PLEASE give us more EX-V7 VIDEO samples ...
---> WITH ZOOM AND stereo SOUND ;-)))

I'm very interested in this model for video...
but I'm impatient to choose between TZ3 (PANASONIC) and EX-V7 !...

I found a very good video sample one here :
http://hottaky.com/photos/ex-v7/movies/CIMG5226.MOV

and comparaison with ANTI-SHAKE ON OFF here :

TEST antishake OFF:

TEST antishake ON:

Thank's to Taky Cheung ;-)

Any advice welcome.

Hi Anjoy. From all your posts it seems that video quality is very important to you (it is for me as well). I'm just wondering if maybe you might be better off then purchasing a high def camcorder that can take good photos instead of a camera that can take good videos. If price is a concern, I think you get a lot for your money with the Sony HC3 - prices have come down considerably recently for it. None of the cameras you're considering would be able to compete with the video quality from a dedicated high def camcorder (for now anyway). And a bonus? It takes reasonable pictures.

This is just a guess - I don't know what your needs are - perhaps portability is equally important to you and you need your [video] camera to fit in your pocket :)

Not the videos, but the stills ! I think you may have just sold a camera for Casio. Can i ask what settings you used for most of those shots? Were they mostly auto or did you fiddle a lot with various settings? I was particularly impressed with the fact that the sunlight shots showed no blown hilights at all. Of course there aren't many examples of that sort of scene, but a couple of those sunny day beach shots showed the white water in the breaking waves perfectly. My 750 blows the highlights out badly at the beach on those whitewater shots.

Overall i'm really impressed. It seems to my eye like casio finally improved something thats been long needed. Whether it's the leans or what i dunno. But the shots just seem to have a much more natural looking color with no noise and blown light areas like all casios seem to do to one extent or another. The videos however......well, they're good, and wide screen is a plus. But i'm not sure whether they look any better than my Z750's. I'd have to compare them, but i'm not on my PC right now and on mine i have dialup so downloading video is not possible. No matter tho, as they surely look as good if not better. But it's those stills.....man they are nice ! By the way, does it feel/seem a lot bigger than the 750/850?

Thank you so much for sharing those great pic and videos. I think the video is really good considering it was taken in a low light situation. But I was even more surprised by the quality of the photos! You certainly are a gifted photographer! Were all the pictures taken without tripod? Your shots finally convinced me I will buy this camera. I didn't worry about corner softness anymore that becomes visible at full resolution. You showed that the camera is capable of shooting very nice and natural pictures. Combined with the great video and big zoom it now seems its a must have for me!

Thank you!

It seems like you have accidently become a Panasonic fan... the site mentions that the beach pics at the bottom were taken with a Panasonic FZ20. ;-)

And it's all the panny shots that really had me excited. there were a couple V7 shots i thought were really good, and the rest were still better than i'm used to seeing from casios. But it's the panny shots that really had me going. Bummer. If not for casio's great video (huge record times for small amount of space) i'd ditch casio for sure.

As compared to the PIC and Videos Z750 I'm using EACH day. The pics and videos samples from V7 are good enough for my straightforward and simple needs. I'll stand to gain from the X7 Zoom, Stabilizers and Non Protruding lenses.

Thanks for sharing all these samples.

WOUAAAAAAAA ;-)))

REALLY IMPRESSIV !

Thank you VERY MUCH for these samples !

This casio V7 seem's to be a really good compromise for those who dream's to have an HYBRID camera in a very small format...

I get really impatient to test it with my SD card in A shop here in Switzerland...compared with the brand new (soon arriving too) Panasonic TZ3...

Does somebody get the luck to have done this comparaison ???

Sorry for the confusion I may have caused to some :) I had a note saying that the pictures below the iron gate were taken with my Panasonic FZ20.

What is important, I think, is to have reasonable expectations. That's why I have three cameras - the FZ20 to take my best pictures, the HC3 to take my best videos, and the V7 to carry in my pocket at all times and/or take to parties/beaches. Remember that both the FZ20 and HC3 are much larger than the V7 - think of the FZ20 as a large truck, the HC3 as a sexy sports car, and the V7 as a mini cooper and use the right tool/car for the right job/drive.

That said, the weather's been terrible in Boston the last 3 days, which incidentally is also how long I've had the V7 so the shots from the V7 are under much worse conditions than the FZ20. The videos from the V7 have already performed very well in the harshest conditions (low light, indoor lighting, cloudy weather, heavy snow, and even night time videos!) and the pictures are good as well - see my link above. I'm sure if I'd taken the V7 to bright sunny weather in the Bahamas like the FZ20 we'd be singing praises about the V7 too. I have a really good feeling about the V7 from what I've seen so far thought and I will post much better pics once the weather gods in Boston act nice :)
Thanks for sharing the video! THis little camera is really awesome!
You're welcome. Check out the night stormy weather with snow video I posted at http://sthapit.googlepages.com/v7 . If any video buff is not impressed with that, I'll eat the V7 - it looks tasty anyway :)
Did you have Anti-shake turned on when shooting the video?
No - turned if off for all the shots.
