Physically largest: Type 2

Largest storage capacity: IBM Microdrive is 1GB
I believe there are 512MB CF cards on the market now.

Thanks for the info. It might seem like a stupid question, but I had a Toshiba that wouldn't accept Smart Media cards larger than 64mb.

Not a sumb question at all - all electrinic devices that use memory have some limit to the largest memory they can address.

I know for a fact (I have one!) that the 1GB Microdrive works well in the 995. What I did just see is that 1GB CF cards are now being sold by Lexar. $999 at State Street Direct.. the Microdrive is about $300 for the same storage capacity, but it is more fragile because it is a precision mechanical device and not all solid state.
