One guy saw it ...

'Great minds think alike' :-)
although "hearing it here first" is probably not quite correct,
since my earlier post "beat" this by 4 days or so. Who takes
honours on this one really does not concern me ONE IOTA
I don't mind if you said it first.. I amend my claim to saying it 2nd! :-)

By all accounts, it sounds like they have got something 'special' coming!

This is from when me and Joe went for a day out and we took a couple of blondes with us. This was from when we were both still sober.

It's Joe taking a macro!

:-)

Nah... I'd always pictured him differently... more hippyish and with mousy brown hair and beard That he has black hair!!! Aargghh!! Photo techs who go on the web should have brown hair!

Where's you link to the eyepoint technology?

Here's mine:
http://www.geocities.com/maitani_fan/camera_technologies.html

I think it's a load of bxxxxxks myself but.. ???

Also, I can't see them putting a OM-like body out.. one with the same shape as the L-1 as they're too uncomfortable. Modern PGers are used to 'the grip' for the right hand. OM and the L-1 don't have such!

.. at least not as a main E-3!

You also forgot about the 'uplink', the new E has an uplink. Then wedding PGer can be inside at the altar while assistant is in the car editing the pix as they come in. Milsuper aluded to this.

Head-Up display? he aluded to something along those lines too!

But here's an interesting idea for the uplink and 'Liveview'. The assistant could be sat in the car watching on the laptop the ceremony as it transpires! :-)

Nah, though a nice idea.. it'll only emit 'images', I don't think it'd emit a stream of live view, do you? That would be a form of wireless 'tethering'.

Hey, you HEARD THAT here first!! :-) I've ®'ed, ©'ted and ™'ed that idea! :-)

Hey, lets have both: wireless tethering and uploading images both thru the ariel. Tho that would mean the E-3 having 'Live View' of some sort!

Is that making a PGers life easier or just more complicated?

A wildlife PGer could sit in a hide with his back to the window looking at what his lens is seeing on the laptop screen. He then just clicks the mouse when he wants. No untidy cabling! It's also 'covert'!! Watch your neighbour undress from the comfy settee! LOL You could get beer and some nuts and just watch the show! LOL

Maybe in 5 years?

EMale,

Regarding this post here (I've just cut it out):

***************************
'Great minds think alike' :-)

*************************

And should bother you too!

The more general statement would be: Those who agree, think alike.

Are those who agree "great minds" or "simpletons". Let's hope for our sakes it is the former.

By the way - you seem to be a nice friendly chap. You wouldn't happen to be going to the region of Cologne towards the end of September at all? We could sit down and have a nice chat over some "Kölsch".

By then Photokina will be in full swing.

For the next month you'll probably hear little from Colly - he will be off on a month's vacation to the part of the world that he originally comes from. I've already stocked up on about eight rolls of slide film and will be taking two OM's along with accompanying lenses.

And regarding this:

How many hats are you going to have to eat to account for all the "entities" or rather "instances" of you?

Ask Jim Porter if he has an E-3 hat for me please, will you?

Cheers,

Colmar

EMale,

I'll be off on Vacation starting Sunday evening, so let me at least say this:

Unlikely to be the real "Joe Number", rather Z = R + jI sort of number.

Let me leave this last bit:

I am an Olympus customer that likes solving puzzles, my mind likes them and:

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1022&message=19188125

I have not bought any E-series cameras (I still have 30 year old OM's)

I cannot wait to hold an E-3. They thought about this long and hard, all aspects of it, I am sure:

Fellow Olympus SLR-forum followers,

Colmar aka Colly aka ColesKing, said he would just let you see his thoughts a little at a time. This is somewhat unfair of me to reply in such a jumbled/staccato like manner. Let me stabilize my thoughts:

Up to now, its been "smoke and mirrors". From here onwards its going to be only ...

OLYMPUS will bring us a lovely camera. My mother used to say - "All good things come to those who wait".

Anyway to all - have a lovely holiday. I am off to the Kruger Park (South Africa) for a few days, then to the South African south coast and finally to Cape Town.

Cheers,

Colmar

Raist3D,

I couldn't care about "being way off" in the exact detail.

The general gist will turn out to be "almost correct".

I have been an OM-user since when I bought my first OM-10 in 1979. This camera - for the value for money that it offered - is what "hooked me" into Olympus.

Olympus will sell me a DSLR soon - if it'll still be called that.

This is a very old thread and you talked back then as "we will know in two months." That's what I meant by way way off. If you just say "hey I know something you guys don't" and nothing is shown after you mention it will in 2-3 months away, then it doesn't matter if you actually know something or not- you look like one of those "I have inside info and you guys don't" internet guys that really in the end don't know anything.

I am pretty sure the E-3 will be pretty cool. To be honest, I am afraid of the asking price, when it's announced.

"Anyone could have predicted my gist".

Not anyone.

The ones with real "inside-information" would have predicted it into the "last detail". For me, much more difficult.

I repeat - I am an Olympus USER (not a marketer) that has become enthralled with this puzzle.

I trust and hope that Olympus will have something really special in store for me.

But, let me repeat again - I am an Olympus OM user (OM-10, OM-2n and OM-4) and not a marketer with any "inside info".

All "inside info" that I do have is inside my mind. Info that I have gleaned over ca. 3 years of looking at this puzzle.
