G2 techniques web site

Bookmarked! Very useful stuffs. I especially like the Stepped Blur actions... why buy softening filters when you can archieve the same(if not better) effect in Photoshop? :D

Keep up the good work,
Tony
Hi there,
just put up my first pass at a web site for the G2, describing my
workflow and some digital darkroom techniques that I've picked up
from various places.

Would like to get feedback, if you think it is useful or not. Also
describes how I'm currently using the various linear actions out
there.

Well done! I particularly enjoyed the discussion about creating B&W and quadtone photos, as I plan to play around with B&W soon. Excellent photos, too -- I hope mine can compare!

Cheers!

Excellent site Gordon, particularly enjoyed the Black/White & Linear Workflows sections, definitely one to bookmark :)

Thanks Gordon,

You are one of the reasons why I keep coming back to this wonderful site every night (before bedtime)... Have not bought the G2 yet, but it's fun to keep dreaming, and enjoying the selfless contributions from people like you and other generous folks.

Thanks Gordon, yes your website is very helpful. I just
got my G2 last week and am currently trying to optimise
my workflow. I have been scouring the web and found most
of the information and links you refered to, but its good
to see it organised in a workflow that results in optimum
images.

Keep up the good work.

Gordon,

Nice site! Helpful advice for those of us just starting out, and beautiful pictures. I liked seeing the photos at each step of your workflow, and your explanation of what you were doing, and why.

Please keep on posting. :)

WOOT! You words seem so much like my own (at least the part about searching the web to learn about G2). Amyway, your website is excellent. Not only is the content worthy of a bookmark and periodic visit, but everything is laid out in a pleasant web format.

Very nice!

Gordon:

Thanks for such a wonderful site with loads of information. I guess its time for me to start experimenting with linear conversions. I'll take some of my more worthy photos and follow your workflow.

Your efforts are appreciated. Thanks for sharing.

Because if you have any sort of a life (or a family), you won't have the time to spend several hours tweaking every picture to some sort of perfection - so my wife tells me! ;)

Caught a mistake in the duotoning article and on some of the actions that didn't mention converting to 8-bit Mode for some of the Photoshop functions. Sorry for any confusion that caused. I've updated the actions t address this. Also made available Colin Walker's linear action, beta 5

Added a few new topics, discussing the various file mode options and some tips for portrait & night time work. I'm going to re-write the workflow section when I get time to address either linear or non-linear processing in 8 or 16 bit mode.

Comments welcomed.

Great Job Gordon!

I really appreciated your step by step workflow sections with visuals - for people like me, just beginning with Photoshop and photography, such mini tutorials are invaluable.

Thanks for all the work
