ultra sd cards (not sandisk) any good.

is that the card that Tigerdirect sells? I know Ultra makes different products such as computer memory, flash memory media, hard drive enclosures, etc. I like they're hard drive enclosures. Good price for value.

If so, i find they're products to be safe generics.

I think the chances of an SD Card failing without any outside influence are pretty low, no matter how cheap it is.

I have even go so far as to accidentally put my SD Card thru the washer without it failing. Fortunately, it came loose from my pants and I noticed it before I loaded it into the dryer, because I think that might have killed it.
I still use it today without having ever had a problem with it.

I use a Top Ram 2GB 150x card that I got off eBay for about $30-35.

Woo.. a washed and working SD. That's pretty cool. Should all my SDs take a shower?

I would not recommend it. :)

It survived a full cycle in water and laundry soap (no bleach).

No visible damage. Label did not even peal. That was about 4 months ago and it is still working. :)

Make sure to format the card fairly frequently, this reduces the chance of the files becoming corrupted...

BTW, I am using Kingston Cards that have been working well for me also...
