Concert, 50 1.4 or 24-70L

a 50 would be too short, the 24-70 would definitely do a better work.

I use a 70-200 IS for concerts actually and lately I purchased an 85 1.2L. That is the best lens for concerts!!

Logic is superior to emotion
BUT
Emotion is much more fun!

Watch out for the exposure police.

But without a doubt the 50 !! On a crop camera it's long enough and you can freeze as much as you can the action at f1,4 even if you'll loose definition and sharpness. At 1,6 you'll get the best result.

I have a 35L and I bought it specifically to gain shutter speed versus two great lenses that I have and do cherish : the 24-70L and 70-200IS. Frankly, I did most of my last good concert shots with the 35L and 85L because of the light they can gather and potential shutter speed increase.

At 1600 ISO and f2,8 your shutter speed will be to slow.

A prime ca't be beat if you don't have light and a concert...
