Hi to all, I would like to know from the owners of this camera what kind of problems did you found till today?... like problems with the flash, the white balance, etc

Best Regards!

Yes, there is a significant problem with this camera, BUT only if you happen to use the old K or M lenses on this camera. The light metering system to permit proper exposures will not work properly and you will need to fiddle and play in the M mode to get the correct exposures and histograms that you are looking for from any image. Pentax is aware of this problem and will hopefully address it with a firmware upgrade if possible. If you don't plan to use older Pentax lenses with this camera, then you should not have any problems with the K10D. It is a very, very nice piece of work otherwise. Cheers. Don A.

While I am happy with this camera I have to report that the auto-white-balance is really poor indoors, particularly with mixed lighting. What is nice though is because of the white-balance preview it is easier to select the correct preset white-balance and fine-tune it than it is with other DSLRs. Finally, my experience is that the SR helps only a little - much less than my Konica-Minolta 7D. Opinions on this are mixed. You can find many forum posts which says the SR works very well and some which say the opposite. I do not know how to get to the bottom of this, it could be the camera or it could be that the 7D's anti-shake is better suited to how I hold the camera. Finally, my biggest problem is that the K10D won't take my Minolta lenses!

Three problems:

1. LBA. Massive, soul-wrenching eBay-refreshing bank-account emptying LBA.

A. A constant nagging bad conscience for not going out and taking more pictures.

I. A feeling that I will never learn all the ways that this camera can out-smart me or all the things I thought I knew about taking photos and apparently don't.

No problems with the camera itself, at all.

Not too much into e-bay for lenses but I can relate to the bank account emptying.

I have the opposite nagging. Am I neglecting my mom and wife duties because I shoot so much?

LOL ditto this for me too!

Yep, the only problems I've had have been operator induced. ;-)

My internal flash stopped working afte about 1.5 months. I sent it back to pentax, 31 days later they still have it. Hoping it gets fixed soon.

Unfortunately, I had a problem with the camera freezing up randomly. I posted regarding this last night. Had to finally take the camera back after week of shooting. The camera would sometimes lock up and not allow shutter release (The quick fix was to remove the battery, then replace.) I think I am one of only a few people who've had this problem. Otherwise, excellent camera. I will try another K10D soon. Also, I'm hoping other people come forward about this issue if they've experienced similar things. I'm new to the forum and so far I am extremely pleased w/ the info I've received here. In fact, this is one of the major reasons I bought the K10D in the first place.

Thanks (and good luck.)

More reliable exposure metering with M lenses would be nice, but it's not a big thing (I mostly use the only M-lens I have, an 1,7/50, almost wide open, and overexposure happens only with f=5,6 and more).

And getting rid of the pattern noise in underexposed high-iso shots would be nice too, but anyway, very few times I have had this problem, and in conditions in that I didn't expect good results, anyway.

Great user interface, especially after the firmware update.

Regards - Klaus

No problems, am new to DSLR's, came from Digi-bride-cam (used manual controls though) and was up and snapping the very first day. This camera is "Hands Down" the best value in it's price range and above, for that matter, and after much evaluation against the N-D80, S-A100, C 30D it was the clear winner.

Is it perfect , no, as mention about a couple of issues above, but Pentax's track record is solid and they have already addressed other requests in a recent firmware upgrade and I believe they will resolve these others as well.
