F11 portrait

good idea to fill-in that right-side with the red background -- i was a bit savage with my cropping. you've produced a very nice result. although, the original "cluttered" one (even the impinging picture on the wall) has its merits too. input appreciated.

First of all what happend with the topic?

I like non-photoshoped pictures, and i think the picture came out just fine. If you can handle Photoshop you can of course get some pictures that we can all call "nice" and make´em "right".

Blown high-lights...just a part of of the taken picture.

Thanks for sharing.

The topic is "F11 Portrait" ... not "F11 Snapshot" ... portraits are always processed. Snapshots don't have to be. I process everything though.

I didn't ask you how you felt about the original picture or about processing. But the difference between images that have been processed and those that have not is always very apparent.

To make this image a "portrait" requires removing distracting elements. To strengthen or finish it requires opening the shadows and treating the eyes -- here I used the classic dodge technique on the whites to make them stand out a bit more. The image was one of the few portraits that benefited a lot from sharpening because of the textures in the subject's skin ...

The draganized version was an interesting experiment for the same reason.

Why does it bother you that I can use Photoshop?
Blown high-lights...just a part of of the taken picture.
Blown highlights ... a mistake in exposure. Essentially ruined the draganized version. That's why we don't do it.
Thanks for sharing.
That is usually the OP's job. And I wasn't searching for thanks. I was showing how the portrait should be approached instead of savage crops etc.

"F11 portrait" is the name of the thread, I was just refering to what we were talking about, in the thread.

I use Photoshop myself, it´s a part of my job, I like photoshop.

Yes, you are handeling Photoshop quite good and I don´t have a problem with that, nice work. I just find not-post-proceed photos interesting.

I diden´t thank you, I was thanking ericBlair, for showing me a nice picture.

If I had planned to contribute again to that other discussion, do you not think I was capable of responding there?

So start your own sub-thread to discuss that. It's an utterly irrelevant comment in response to a post with post processed images, unless you are trying to make some sort of point.

Um ... I don't think so. All your responses in that post were directed to me. If you needed to thank Eric, you could have posted a reply to one of his posts.
