I agree Bill. Surprisingly good results for 1600, too. Well done,
much preferred to flash.

The cowlick, the sucker, and the eyes that melt mom's heart.

So these look like flourescent tube lights reflecting in his eyes....cool...with your reflection barely in the middle...serious detail!...do you need a shave?
;-)

So this time I go with no eyes

And just a touch of color

I am into "catch lights" now, which this did not have on an overcast snowy day.

...and very good high ISO performance as well.

-- Thanks Tom, yes, I am very pleased with the High ISO performance with this camera, and the OIS on the lens just makes things easier all the way around..Bill ~

That's a winning photo, # 1, the interaction between the little girl and the cat is priceless, not a big color transfer fan, I guess I'm just an old traditionalist, at heart..here's two for you Bill, with plenty of catch lighting..Bill ~

yours are great photographs

I agree about the coloring of px....it was fun to try, but lost the novelty quickly.

Did I throw this one out there yet....my old grandpa mind does forget?
Maybe a touch soft, but in a nice way.

your px to mine...more from image size difference (several of mine were from an old fuji 4900, and then some from my fz5, and a couple were really old and scanned) or more from technique. Do you start with RAW and do you shoot in BW or do you take RAW and convert to grayscale. Do you denoise much?
thanks Bill
and a final 4 spot!

@whvick
Is that shot - of the 4 boys enjoying sliced melon - one that you did ?!
I'd be interested in a larger version if you don't mind.. I like it very much!

regards,
rob.

-- Most of the ones posted here are from the LC1 including this one which is 5MP..the B&W conversion is greyscale, lighten and darken to taste..All shot in Jpeg and some in camera B&W mode, that's it..Bill ~
