I am looking to purchase a G2 soon. I am looking for advice on the best online dealer to buy from, that is selling the G2 for $799 or less. I must have a U.S. warranty, 'factory fresh' unit and expect prompt delivery (assuming it is in stock), and no hassles if I have to return it.

I guess I am looking for recommendations of companies to both consider, and definitely stay away from.

Try dbuys.com

Bought one last week from them for $777. Ordered two day FEDEX and it took three (snow in Memphis) so they are supposed to refund my shipping. Only complaint I would have is the the normal cost of shipment. Was $39.95 for 2 day FEDEX.

Cameraworld in Oregon (cameraworld.com)

B and H Photo in New York (bhphoto.com)

I personally have had a better experience with cameraworld so far, but I'm willing to give B and H another shot because they come very highly recommended. They also have a better selection when it comes to filters and lenses.

Make sure you use the "email me a better price" feature on these sites. Only takes a minute and will drop the price to around $750. Or you can call. As far as in-stock, it's hit and miss right now. You may have to wait a couple weeks.

Try shopharmony.com (ask for Phil) was $759 with free ground shipping when I bought but I think price has gone up to $799 - shipping still free I think.

Apparently they don't know how to ground ship, 'cos mine came from NY to KS in 3 days. Actually shipped on Wednesday, delivered Thurs.
Didn't push me about accessories either.

My friend MATT on this same forum is a not-so-secret agent for Canogacameras.com - lol - there is a helpful saleman there (name forgotten). According to MATT, great service and prices.

Also, over the years I've bought alot of stuff from Adorama in NY. If you can get past the 'friendly' NY attitude, they sell at reasonable prices and send what I've ordered.

Best wishes,

Legolas
