I'm hoping someone out there can help me out ... we own an S85 and I know that somehow, somewhere you can find out the total image count for the camera. We are passing our beloved old friend to someone new, but before doing so, I would like to see how many photos were taken on this camera before she goes :-(

Thanks.

Sony used to keep track of time the camcorder heads were in use.

But that information was available only through the special RM95 remote control device used by their technicians.

The camera may indeed keep this counter somewhere in memory, but you will need access to the service program that in some way emulates that remote control screen.

Sorry I counld not be more helpful.

Thanks for the suggestion of using some sort of image counting software. Maybe there is something for S85 out there. I know it can be done right from the camera, as I did find a total count on my camera over a year ago, BUT do you think I could remember? Sheesh. How can something that simple be so confusing?
