Celebrity sighting: Q'Orianka Kilcher

Ok...I know I didn't really shoot Nicole Kidman a few weeks ago.

But this time, it's a for real but lesser celebrity. All I knew was that I saw an exoticly beautiful young woman while shooting the march on Washington, so I snapped a few shots. Then, keen-eyed dpreviewer Ketan G asked if it was Q'Orianka, whom I never heard of. A quick google turned up a definite match...or else a clone.

These are not PJ shots. I did some PS work on her youthful blemishes. I left her wisp of mustasche though.

By the way, her wikipedia entry is interesting. Her full name is Q'Orianka Waira Qoiana Kilcher, she does indeed have an exotic mix of DNA, and she will be 17 on Feb 11. And she was Pocahontas in "The New World," which I did not see.

Any doubters? ;-)

nice Bokeh.
Say what you want about Jesse Jackson, he is photogenic.

Isn't Kilcher the one who did a film as a 14 or 15 year with simulated sex scenes? I guess if it is made by a major studio it is art and ok, if it isn't it is kiddy porn.

The moustache does add a bit of character.

Yes, she's the one. I think they had to cut some of the steamier scenes.

The movie was Terrence Malick's "The New World", about Hiawatha and John Smith.

Hardly a porn movie.

Her folks were on set throughout the shooting of it. The steamy sex scene consisted of basically one kiss, and a lot left to the imagination. There are articles about the making of the film in American Cinematographer among other places.

Malick, director of "Days of Heaven", "Badlands", "The Thin Red Line" certainly ain't a pornographer.
