I'd just like to know if LPG is a serious photographer, just so I can know what to make of his photographic related prognostications. As there are no photos to look at, all there is to go on are LPG's dpreview postings. So, I had a look around and have put together some excerpts from LPG's dpreview posts, check 'em out if you have a minute (better not let the kiddies read 'em, though). At various times LPG wrote:

30D is full frame as I predicted

Just like the 20D was not a worthy upgrade. Now, the Nikon D200 seems like a very attractive alternative. The 5D is simply too expensive....

I can see that I am not the only surprised, ( and let down ), canon user on this forum. Nikon is now the front runner in Dslr users.

One thing is for sure, ( as we can read from most D20 owners and want-to-be FF owners), the 30D is NOT the answer.

A replacement for the 5D will be out by next February... I would wait...

Yeah, the next model will be better. They usually are in DSLR world, but not P&S world. I still like my 5D and heck, I still love the shots I took with my E-20 way back when, and that camera has been outclassed by many since.

So if your point is to scare folks away from getting a 5d, I do not think you have frothed at the mouth enough to make anyone stop. Get MORE animated, SHOUT stupid things. That's the way!

If someone needs a 5D right now then they should get one. You can ridicule them later as seems to be your intent.

It's just a light box, go out and shoot.

What good is a dust reduction system that shakes the dust off into the body to be picked up again when you move the camera around.
