Horrible sRGB export problems with Aperture (help!)

that Apple's response would probably be that it's not Aperture's flaw, but rather a flaw of all the others who have apps out there which are not color managed. True, but this doesn't help us does it?

Perhaps I overlooked this option. There are "Generic Monitor" and "Generic RGB Profile" options, but they're still listed in the ColorSync Profile popup. There doesn't appear to be to be an option for NO profile. Let's see how the Generic Monitor setting does. The first set of photos below are with sRGB profile. The second set are with the Generic Monitor settings, and the third set are with Generic RGB Profile. Use this as a testing page for different browsers and OS. Please reply posting which set of images look most like the results that you get with Safari. They all still seem to have profiles, but Firefox seems to render the Generic ones MUCH better than sRGB.

I've tested on Windows XP and I have to say the Generic RGB Monitor set looks the best and is pretty darn close to Safari. The color is a little less deep, rich and contrasty, but much better than sRGB and more than acceptable IMHO.

I've read through the topic, and am not sure. . . what comes to mind, though, is my experience when I calibrated the monitor to 1.8. In-computer and posted images were noticeably different. Setting the calibration with a 2.2 gamma pretty much cleared that up.

YMMV.

You'll have to ignore the gallery's collection of bad compositions, improper exposures, and amateurish post processing. ;)
