Hey - you deserve some good lighting once in a while. I shot some pics today in a gym in a new lookig school but it was the darkest gym I have been in over the past few weeks. I have not even downloaded the pic syet to see how they look. Maybe later tonight.

Nice shots Dom! Glad the lighting was good. Looks like 400 ISO on your camera wasn't that noisy.JD

Hey, pretty nice, Dom. What's your sharpening setting? I've been using Normal, but I think my ISO 400 shots (and all others, too, from what I've read, here) would be better if I used Soft. It's already set in the camera. Just waiting for shooting opportunity.

Is #14 player yours? I think I saw him among the wrestling shots, too.

I went shopping for a better flash bracket, today, for my Sunpak. Had been using a folding chrome retro thing that's still available for about $14. It was weak where the flash attached, and uncomfortable to hold for vertical shots.

After trying all the other brackets among the store's limited selection, I grudgingly tried the overpriced Olympus FL-BK01 bracket. Light, sturdy, comfortable, not gimmicky. Had to have it!

Hey Tim post those paegent shota for us.

Elmo,

Soft in the camera and then I sharpen edges and then run it through unsharp mask with the settings Bob S recommended in another thread, with some slight variation due to indoor shots.

500% with a .2 to .4 radius (depending) and sometimes bump up the thershold up to 30 or 40, that last part depends on what computer I do the work on. it seems different on home vs work computer.

It is the difference in monitors. Did not get the flash yet, probably get it monday.

Good luck with the bracket.--DomDP-NJC-2100UZPbase Supporter http://www.pbase.com/domdp 'The quality of your life is determined by how you feel at any given moment. How you feel is determined by how you interpret what is happening around you, not by the events themselves.' --Brian Tracy--

You did a great job! Today I am going to attempt taking photos of my daughter playing club volleyball. I will try your recommended settings and see if I have any success too.

I am a little frustrated right now. I tried everything suggested to take better sports photography and no luck.

Today I was already to take some nice volleyball action shots. I am so impressed and inspired with your BB photos. The still shots turned out good, however if there was the slightest movement, then the photo was all blurred.

I was up in a balcony, with harsh lighting, which didn't help. Any suggestions are welcomed.
