I've had my Xti for about 3 weeks now. It's my first dlsr. I've been taking pictures of everything, playing with settings and modes. There's definitely been a learning curve with the camera for me.

I'm trying to learn about photography as welll as the camera.

Even though I still have a lot to learn, I got a few pictures today that I was pretty happy with.

I am really enjoying the Xti and having a lot of fun with it.

C&C welcome.

Thanks,
Keith

It's Mt. Rainier in Washington State.

I thought it looked like "my" mountain. :)

Very pretty. I've gotten a bunch of subdued winter colors from outdoor shots recently, and your b&w just reminded me how nice that can look.

It is an incredible site. I took the picture from Denny Park in Kirkland. It's hard to get decent pics of it from so far away. Often times the haze makes it hard to make the mountain "pop" or stand out from the sky around it.

Thanks. The b&w is my favorite of the group. It was taken on the Burke Gilman trail early yesterday morning. I'm looking forward to spring and getting our "green" back.

Thanks for the comments.

Very nice shots. I've had my Xti about as long as you and have not been getting anything near as good as your's. I also live in the area and I think your picture of Mt. Rainier is awesome.

Thanks Gidget. There are a lot of cool things to take pictures of around here. I actually invited myself over to a friends house this afternoon to climb up on his roof so I could get some shots of the Olympics at sunset.

I've been taking so many pictures that a few are bound to come out ok. Hopefully the # of keepers increases as I go along.

What lense are you using for these shots?

I found a cool place in W. Seattle, just before Salty's, you can turn Right under an archway and it leads to a little park where you can walk out over the water to an elevated viewing area. I took some shots last week but the lighting wasn't good and I don't know what I"m doing. Hope to go back and try some night shots. If you haven't been there, check it out. Great place to shoot the city, Space Needle, Ferries.

I sold my kit lens and picked up a Canon 17-85 IS. It's the only lens I have for now. I figured the IS would come in handy in the land of gray skies. I'm pretty happy with it.

I'll have to check that out. I actually debated on going over to West Seattle this weekend to try and get some pictures.
