Happy to share some images from Tanzania here at the forum - thanks to those who offered positive advice about 100-400L which was great to have for its versatility in Tanzania.

Just a few pics below, more can be found at pbase gallery link below.

Kind regards,

Mark

Thanks - I think you're right about the contrast and saturation, what I've tended to be doing lately is giving it a first run and then sitting on them for a week or so and coming back to them - this way I don't go over the top particularly in terms of saturation.

Lately however I've heard that the best way to bump up saturation is not through 'Hue and Saturation' in Photoshop but through Curves. (Clearly I could have done this in Camera Raw first but as said I try to avoid producing overly saturated images).

Any specific tips to recommend?

hi,

no.5 is brilliant, the rest can have a little bit better
postprocessing in my opinion, needs more saturation and contrast
for my taste

Thanks!

I develop a RAW image with DxO which is great for lens corrections, then finish the RAW files off in Camera Raw.

Only basic changes made with white and black point in histograms in Photoshop and then use Imaging Factory B&W converter plug-in for the sepia pictures.

What settings, if you would care to divulge?

...for feedback which is highly appreciated

... with all you're galleries. An excellent collection all round.

It's images like those that make me want to pick up my camera right now and shoot! Truely inspirational.

BTW - do you have any special PP tricks. I ask because some of your images (Morocco esp.) have wonderfully muted/pastel shades.

No speciql tricks with the photos here, these are pretty much straight RAW conversions from DxO and Camera Raw with minor adjustments in levels/curves, sharpeness, etc.

One thing I would like to master better is black and white and being able to convert even richer images without simply sliding the midpoint in levels in Photoshop - takers for any tutorials here!
