Can anyone pls help me with this issue. I haven't had the camera that long

6 moths at most. I was outside taking some race photos in the winter up here in Montreal. Now my lens and phots are fogged up. Is there anyway to clear this up?--Thanks for taking the time

try putting it in a bag with a dessecant or getting it into a dryer environment for a day or two....maybe keep it in the house at a constant temp in a closet with a dehuidifyer for a few days maybe even a week....that's gonna probably have to dry out over time....unless it's just the VF mine can be taken off and cleaned bit the lens is sealed....

Thank-you so much for answering me. When you mentioned to put into a bag with a dessecant. What do you mean exactly?

dessacant is usually a powder or crystals that are used in boats as well as other high humidity & moisture environments that draws the moisture out of the air .Actually my tiffen UV protector had a desecant pouch in the container...you wouldn't want to make direct contact with the camera with it but it would be in a an open container in the bag with the camera next to the container & since the bag would be enclose & sealed the ambient moisture in & around the camera would be consumed by the desecant which would act as a chemical dehumidifyer......those little pouches are in alot of packaging of things that can rust or corrode due to moisture...I bet you've thrown a million of them away..but you could probably get some at a hardware store or boating supply....

Yes, Juli...I've recieved some christmas items with little white bags and on the bags it says: Desiccant Silica Gel. They're about and inch by an inch and it also says Throw Away...do not eat..hahhaa

They are hard , like little rocks it feels like in these bags. I've got 2. You say I should place them in a bag air tight with my camera?
You've probably seen little bags of crystals in medicine bottles or
electronic products. They absorb moisture as I understand it.

Yes, I have thrown out bags like that. I've only two little bags. How long are these little bags good for? Do they become inactive after awhile? How long do I keep the camera in there with them?

I had a completely different set of circumstances fog up my lens. I was in my nice cold air-conditioned car for a couple of hours and stepped out with my camera to take some photos. Outside, it was 96 degrees and very humid.

I didn't notice the lens fogging up until I looked through the viewfinder and couldn't see anything but haze but a gray colored light.

I got back in the car and sat my camera on the dash board near a defogger vent. Then I turned on the defogger, which blows warm DRY air. 10 minutes later the fog was gone and I was able to take the camera back outside, since the temperature of the lens was now much warmer.

This may help your camera too.--Charles Booher http://www.boohers.com

Thank-you Charles. I will try anything at this point. But the camera has been sitting for one week already and it hasn't improved. I'm a little worried.

Hello,

I think you will have to wait and keep the camera warm for some days and if it does not come back to normal then it will need servicing.

I used my camera in and out of the house in Montreal but it never did any fog inside. Did you use it under rain or something? I don't think its supposed to do that and since it is still under warranty i would return it for repair, because otherwhise you will have this problem each time maybe.

I was taking photos outside. It was snowing out. I think I'm gonna bring it in for service today. It's been a week and nothing has changed.

Thank-you Daniella for taking the time.
