Yep this SR looks good in pink. We had a fun session tonight, this night was dedicated to the white background only, (I just love this setup) so easy to set the lights and just shoot away :)

2 AB800's with barn doors to control spill for the background
2 AB800's with Large Softboxes for Main & Fill
ISO = 100
fstop= 8.0
SS=125
Canon MkIIn
24-70L

Truly a very strong image...
The pink is just too saturated for my taste.
The face seems soft.

my 2 cents worth of opinion.

It may just be my taste, but I think there's too much PP on the face. I'd probably back down on it just a bit.

Great expression and nice pose.

I agree with the others about the softening affect. Like I'm one to talk. Maybe a bit less and sharpen up the rest. I make sure that there is a mask on the layer with the softening so that I can erase that effect where things should be sharp.(hair, eyes, nostil shadows and clothing) Yes I believe nostil shadows are overlooked. LOL

BTW, my spew on the masking thing was learned just last week. There are others that can give you better advice on this. It is from them that I have learned.

Thanks,

Ron

hello all..... thanks for your comments.... as to the pp.... its a taste thing...you may like "beets" with your meal, maybe i don't (lol) Actually there is not not a whole lot of softing going on here, she has very smooth skin :)

Beas.... Power Levels..... I shot these at F8, I don't pay attention to the levels on the light, I just try to acheive f8 on this type setup. I meter the back ground for F8, then I turn around and meter the forground for F8 (just) a wee bit hotter than the background.

Here is another for fun using a hat,scarf,gloves, bought at wal-mart $10.00
(lol)
same lighting :)

Hey Ox,

I'm curious, did you go for the crossed lighting intentionally? The exposure looks great and she looks like a fine model. I think the colors work.
Cheers,
-Kent

Yes... I crossed the front lights, maybe not the right way, but.... I have always like the results.... so it works for me. Appreciate your comments.

I prob need to remove the 2nd catch light..... but I never really pay any attention to those kinda things :)

Thanks everyone for your input!

But for some reason these look like the eyes are a little out of focus or soft? Could be in the resizing.

That being said they are really nice.

Don't tell me this stimmer.... I don't like out of focus shots :) maybe the soft action focus I threw on it. Thanks for your input!

Was she resting on something under her left elbow? The photo shows banding and when or if printed on white will show a pink glob on the right edge.

Do you have to PS the BG with those settings? Why not push the BG a stop or so higher when you meter and adjust to get the pure white?

Haha - I see the CHAIR!!! My bad, that pink tint just had me going silly...

The eyes and teeth are too bright (not necessarly too white). There is no shadow/definition left in the eyes and teeth. They appear to be glowing. Did you change the blend mode and opacity when you painted them?

I can see that action now. Did you make a dup layer and bring the eyes back in, or just soft focus directly over the entire thing?

That's a rough exposure - the orange forehead tells me the red channel is blown.

She's got smooth skin all right, but I tell you it doesn't match the skin on her hands and neck. Skin is not plastic and not uniform in colour. Skin has its own texture. She's a good looking girl but you've turned her into a manequin.

Great picture
awesome clarity in the eyes,

but every time I see this I can't help but think about the client or clients parents saying WOW great shot but, She doesn't really look like this, her whites of her eyes are too white, the color of the eyes aren't really hers....

or am I just really off base here?

again, its a great shot, but just curious?
