Hi everybody.. This is my first post here in this forum. I'm a complete rookie in photography. I'm from Argentina and I would like to know where is the best place to buy my E-10.

I visited http://www.cnet.com and http://www.zdnet.com .. but I noticed in shopping section @ http://www.yahoo.com there is a store with an incredible price.

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/1stopcamera/ole10slrdigc.html $ 799!!!

Is that possible? is it new? I'm reading all of your postings and you are always talking this camera is $ 1200-1400

If you think it's a reliable store, I'm going to buy it. I'm trusting in you, people!!

Thanks,
Daniel G.

Daniel,

Beware of the grey market. The will charge what sounds like a bargin price for a camera that does not include a US Warranty, accessories etc. I have been hearing lots of good things about Cameta camera in NY. They have lots of Ebay auctions, and will also sell directly. Expect to pay about $1100- $1200 for a NEW E-10 with US warranty.

Thank you Mike for replying me so soon.

As I wrote on my previous post, I'm a complete rookie in photography.. does it matter if it's refurbished for me?

Could you describe me the difference between a refurbished one and a new one? And I dont need a US warranty. I'm from Argentina and the US warranty is useless for us.

it says factory refurbished. I would also check on the vendor. I
seem to remember some posting about it that wasnt to good. AFAIK a
new E-10 would go for around 1200 right now.

Daniel-I've checked resellersratiings.com and one stop camera has about
as bad of a rating as you could get. Obviously not reliable! You might want
to check out resellerratings.com before you buy from anyone. They
rate mail-order companies according to feed-back from either satisfied or
dissatified customers. Not a guarantee but should eliminate some folks real
fast. Hope this helps. Tom G.

Thanks Tom for all your help. I'm not going to buy at that store.

BTW... Does a refurbished camera has the same features, same quality and all the same as a new one? (besides the warranty). As I posted on my previous postings, I really dont care about the warranty, because it doesnt work in Argentina.

I checked in resellers.com as you told me and I found that IkoDigital is a great place to buy it

http://ikodigital.com/e-10.html

Any comments?
Thank you people!!

I'm considering an E20 and noticed that they have a high ratiing and
I intend to call them monday to ask some questions. Their price is about

$400 less than most so it sounds a little too good to be true! I am interested in the warranty so grey market matters.

IKO looks too good to be true. On Reseller Ratings, there is only
ONE feedback report and, surprise, it's the highest rating. I would
be careful because it could be a ringer. A company with 40 employees
should have enough sales to generate more than only one feedback report.
Also, it does not say that it is a US model so it probably is grey
market.

At this point, the best deal seems to be on ebay. There is a long
established dealer selling the refurb E10 for $995 with a 5 year
Mack warranty. The dealer has hundreds of positive feedbacks so
they are probably OK.

I recently purchased through eBay at a competitive price ... you

Ed, thanks for replying my post.

I think you people can not understand my situation. I live outside US and nobody will sell me the camera. And why should I pay a used camera from some guy on Ebay if I have a refurbished one directly from Olympus and it's even cheaper than those who I found on ebay?

Another thing, I dont care if it's the N or P model. Here in Argentina, we have PAL and NTSC.. Our TVs, VCRs and everything comes in PAL-B, PAL-N, PAL-M and NTSC. Is there another main difference between the E-10N and the E-10P ?

Finally, in Argentina, you can get everything what you want in the grey market. People is not used to use the warranty because it's useless for us. It's only valid in US.

Warm regards,
Daniel G.
