Oly NiMH batteries/charger

Just received my 2100UZ with batteries/charger. The Oly charger info states it is to be used exclusively with the Oly batteries. I use other NiMH batteries and charger for another Olympus camera, and know I can use them in the UZI. My question: if the Oly batteries can only be used in the Oly charger where is the best place to find an extra set of Oly batteries? TIA...

you can use just about any type of Ni-MH battery with that charger. dont let anyone tell you different.

don't worry about it I charge 4 different kinds of batteries in the oly charger plus 2 sets of old 1400mah batteries....you don't need Oly SMcards either...& I'll even pano enable your non-oly cards if you don't have a Zio reader. {N/C just send an SSE with the cards)...

Do a search on batteries and you'll find all kinds of info on batteries and chargers. I have a Maha charger and GB 1800mah batteries--3020.2100Victor T

You can get RayOVac 1600mAH at Wal-Mart for $11. So far they have been working good for me.. others have reported good results also.

Someone on another board posted a link to a battery test/rating comparison/review that gave the rayovac charger & batteries the top rating but also pointed out the maha was just slightly behind at lesser overall cost...I can vouche for the RayoVac charger but all four different sets of batteries I use RayoVac, Oly, DigiPower & Sakar all seem to perform the same...The Sakars are only $10 at one of the officeMax or depots & I saw the DigiPowers at CompUsa for $10 also....The RayoVac charger is phenominal ...
