I was playing with wireless flash after installing non official firmware update and this is what came from that game:

It would appear from your pictures that the onboard flash can be used to just trigger the off camera flash, as it is able to do on my MZ-S. Can you confirm that this is so, or are you just using the flash + - controll to tone down the on board flash?

Mike.

Great images!!!

When I do this, I usually put the main flash into "Auto" mode instead of P-TTL. Did you do that too or is this P-TTL mode?

It looks like we're in for some fun playing around with this!!! Great shots!

What's the technical specs of your tests? Setup, flash, settings, ...

There is a menu Flash in Wireless mode to use on board flash as Master flash or Control flash. In control flash mode on board flash will not fire.

For all shots:
Camera K10D
Flash Pentax AF-360 was attached to reflecting umbrella
Ev compensation was set +1-2 stops
Camera mounted on tripod triggered by self timer
All lights off

lens FA 28 f2.8 at f4
umbrella was directed from right side above scene slightly behind onions

lens FA 50 1.7 at f4
umbrella was directed from left side above scene slightly in front

These are fantastic and confirm my initial impressions from last night that this is going to be great fun indeed!

I'm not usually a big onion fan, but this time they are my favorite.

Remember, the light at the end of the tunnel could be another train.

Completely forgot.

I also used reflector (white paper for #1 and "gold" paper for #2) in front of egg, to light them a bit.

Thanks for this. Good information about achieving some quality shots with inexpensive gear. It's pretty much exactly the setup I was hoping to get but I wasn't sure if it would do the trick, until now.
