is that big buffer. I can shoot indoor sports in RAW, 5 fps, keep up with gymnasts in lousy dark indoor gyms at iso 1600 or 3200 and still get alot of very good shots. I really struggled with my old 300d, but the 30d makes this so much easier. The quick focusing is also more accurate I think. Here are a few from today shot with the 100f/2 pretty much wide open at 1600.

I plan to hang on to mine for a while :) Your shots are terrific Sean.

By default I use RAW and neutral or standard settings. There is no secret post process on that last image... it's just the beauty of being there and using a polarizing filter to bring out the water and sky. It's shot with the 10-22 which is pretty good with color even without the filter...

Goodness... These are fantastic shots!!! Congratulations... You're most definetively putting your 30D to good use...

I still shoot film, until I've saved enough to get me a 30D too... Will take me a while to get to your quality of shots!!!

One more time, congratulations... Beautiful pictures indeed...

...Me too, I am in love with my 30D.

In fact, I find it so perfect for my needs that the next "upgrade" step - apart from being far, far away in the horizon - will, most probably, be a not an exchange but rather another, different acquisition.

I can see myself living with this camera until it finally knocks out...

You're photos are truly great...Here are some of mine. Also quite easy to see why I love the darn thing...

Give me a hint on how you arrived at the setting for the sunset shot without totally blowing everything out.

Lovely work, I must say. Makes me wonder why everyone is looking a 40D.

It's one helluva camera the 30D.

yout site is very hard to navigate as I usually use mouse gestures using the middle mouse button but I always get this stupid popup which doesn't stop anyone from "stealing" yout photos

If you have a 30D.. it's on page 93 in the manual in the Advanced Operations chapter. You are looking for Exposure Compensation. With EC you override the camera's idea of what a good exposure is. In this case, it would think that the bright sun means the whole frame should be almost white. So you just underexpose by setting EC. On the opposite end, for a back lighted person, you overexpose so that they don't turn out a silhouette.

Add a polarizing filter to enhance color and that's pretty much it.

The 2 portraits are awesome; one note on the sunset/seascape, I would have cropped by the rule of thirds, i.e. the horizon is never ought to cut the picture in the middle.... It gives an unbalanced feeling, not sure how to put it in words ( I am an engineer, not very good with words :) )

cheers
