Just Ran Over My 707

I hope you had one of these..............
Well the unthinkable happened. I left my office this morning with
my wife and child and asked my wife to take the camera with her to
the car. We all got in and I proceeded to back up...but went over
a slight bump...it wasn't a bump. It's still functioning, but I
can't get over the feeling that her days may be numbered! My wife
has no idea how the camera ended up under the car. I am at a loss
of words...

Whaddayaknow,

Yea, lived in the big H all my adult life. The Art Crawl is really
pretty cool. It happens every year on the Saturday before
Thanksgiving. It's a bunch of old warehouses downtown in the area
around Enron Field. Got a few good shots, but as I indicated, I am
still trying to make the move from my Canon A-1 and it's taking a
little getting used to. Love the digital thing though (don't like
it, delete it) What a concept !!!! Once I learn to post here, I
will put up a couple that I have captured in the last week or so.
Just got the beast last weekend, and the wife proptly took it to a
baby shower, so I didn't really get to play with it till this past
Saturday.

Good luck on getting yours repaired.
Yeah, I'll need it! You need to hook up with pbase.com! It's totally free! If you really use that website a lot, then I would recommend donating some money to keep it running. Try it out, I think you'll like it.

she did it on purpose, she's jealous of the attention you have been directing towards the camera and not to her.

Oh sure...with his luck some lawyer would get her custody of the car AND the Camera....with no "Visiting Rights". Dark Angel> Fallen Angel> Broken Home Angel...ugly picture !

Apart from American Express, some VISA Cards (like mine) also come with 90 accident protection insurance... If you got the camera in the last 90 days, you may get the money back... Check it out!

Very ugly picture Don!! Scary even!! It's my wife's money too. I'm positive she didn't do it on purpose. She is a VERY outspoken person, and on that tragic day...not a word was spoken...except the words "I'm sorry." I assure you, she was just as shocked as I was...

hehehe, i'm kidding. sorry to hear about your camera. put it this way, at least you didn't have to go through all the inconvenience on getting it fixed before it happened. good luck on you next camera. and make sure that next time you get a camera, SELL YOUR CAR!! beforehand - as an option for your divorce :)

Careful, I think pbase is running a little slow...

I haven't had any problems with her yet...the camera that is! I'm actually due to make a little money with her this month on doing a photo shoot for a model contest! I won't take any money for the first shoot since I've never done it before, but if the customer likes the photos, then the second and third shoot will definitely get me paid!

I almost forgot about this tragic accident!!! It still makes me
cringe when I think about it...
oemag,

I didn´t want to hurt your feelings, just wanted to show the other STF members the excellent built quality of the F707 (I´m somewhat tired of this moaning and complaining here....)

Yeah, I've been noticing a lot of complaining too, but it should die down once we all get a feel of what this baby is capable of. If we can accept the fact that NO CAMERA is perfect, then the forum will return to normal. At the very least, we all know that this camera's body is a force to be reckoned with.

Let's put a little humor: Did the accident cure the BFS syndrome on your camera?

I think they know :) unless they have some lazy people working for them, i'm sure the f707 was thoroughly abused in everyway they found possible.

But i don't think they advertise it because if people heard "can stand the impulse of a car running over it" then people will try and do it and then sue them for false advertisement :)

They might want to use it for their advertisements... worth a shot if insurance doesn't cover it...
