I love my uzi but was not happy with my wrestling shots, just couldn't get the shutter speed high enough to freeze the action so I lurked around here and soaked up all of the great info and sprung for a 285HV. Wow, here's a couple from this weekend...

Lookls like the 285HV makes quite a difference.

The kid in the bottom shot looks pinned down really good!!--Don StefanikC-2100UZ http://www.pbase.com/djstefanik/djstefanikhttp://www.soslube.comhttp://www.don.stefanik.comLIVE LONG and PROSPER

Nice face-plant in #2.

I'd close the aperture 1/2 stop, regardless of what the flash recommends. Too bright on the highlights.

Great shots. It looks like that 285HV flash will work great for you. Keep up the good work and have fun.

That was my first day with the 285, probably shot 200+ photos not one complaint. Mostly I shot from 20-30 feet away, but some were very close, 5 - 8 feet, of course wrestling doesn't involve a 4" wide piece of hardwood and back flips. When I was in real close I throttle the flash way down and It didn't seem to be a problem.
Did you ask first ?
Did anyone complain ?
Have you used it for indoor sports other than wrestling?

It is a non-no for gymnastics but I don't know about volleyball yet.
