firmware

Hi,
I just bought NIkon Cp8700 and sold away my Canon powershot S1IS.
I was told that CP8700 has latest firmware 1.3 so just wondering whether
this firmware can make my camera performance even better ?

What are the advantages of this firmware 1.3 ?

Directly quoted from the Nikon website for the Coolpix 8700:

"Issues addressed with firmware version 1.3

4GB CompactFlash memory cards can now be used.
Errors in Spanish menus have been corrected."

Thanks Larry...
So if I want to use 1gb or 2gb than I may not necessary to upgrade ?
Can this new firmware improve AF in dim light or other camera performances ?

The AF in low light is not improved by the firmware upgrade. If you do not intend to use the large 4GB cards, and have no interest in the Spanish menu fixes, it appears that the upgrade will be of no interest to you.
