I need to purchase an USB card reader because I really can't take the download speed of my Canon S30.

Things I am aware of, Card Reader are much faster than download directly from camera, but is that also require a driver? Is there any card reader in the market that will no-need a driver in Windows XP environment?

If there is, please kindly refer me one.

Also, any other things I need to be aware when buying a card reader? Thank you.

ummm guys,

if you did a simple "card reader" search you'd find stuff like this (took me 12 secs) -

In most cases, people here will reply, even if a topic has been covered a 100 times. Sometimes a question will slip through, after all, we're all homan here :-) (??) For your other question, I don't have an answer, but I'm sure you'll find it here by "searching topics", unless of course you're main aim is to start a new thread on the subject, in which case I'm done.

I have a Kodak (made by SanDisk) card reader that plugged right in to Win XP... All required drivers are contained in Win XP. True Plug 'n Play. Probably most card readers are the same in XP.

I use a Lexar Fiirewire card reader - plugs straight into the IEE1394 Firewire card that came with the PC and needs no drivers under any recent version of Windows, including XP.
