well, i got it for xmas and i cant put it down, here are some of my better shots. All are taken with the kit lense.









 
Very nice. I get mine this week sometime. Hard to wait for it to come. My only problem is that the SD card I ordered was not in stock and now I don't have one. I had it coming from eCost, since they have great deals, but not so great when it's backordered. Someone said Fry's has the 1GB for $7. sometimes.

Anyway, the kit lens looks really good. And great macro. Did you use a tripod for any of these? How about the flash? is it decent?
 
You have a very good eye for detail, quite great pictures there. Certainly showed how good the D40 is and the kit lens seems quite good as well.

The Night at bridge shot was my favorite..

I used a tripod for the bridge at night shot, mostly because it would be impossible without.

the sky in picture 3 is not photoshopped either none of these pics are which is a testament to the camera as i am still a newbie and learning manual mode is still very fun.

The kit lense in my opinion is great and im more than willing to spring for some other af-s lenses when i get the funds as this body suits my needs perfectly.
