Was in the city today to run some errands, and planned to stay the night there with my family. I realized I forgot my tripod, so I piched up this little tripod for just $30.00 (don't forget I'm in Canada). After running some errands we went out to the car and a wicked snow storm was brewing, so I guesse that I didn't need to get the tripod. I,m not sure if I want to keep it or not. I have thought of several situations that I might be able to use it, and if I want to it is verry easy to hold the camera and tripid for handheld use. If I want to use the tripod, just have to set it on the table. Also, I have once had a time where I used my tripod and couldn't get it low enough for the shot that I wanted. Anyway, just thought it was kinda neat and thought I'd share it with you.

Oh, I used my old camera, And almost forgot how to use it. I was pushing all the wrong buttons.

Darn it. I've been looking for a small tripod that is somewhat firm. I am looking for one more around 6-7 inches high, that could fold out to maybe 18 inches or something. I'm going on a trip, and want everything to fit in my camera bag. That's a nice tripod though. Looks strong yet compact. I might just get it if I can't find something a bit smaller for my bag.

It fits in my bag. The only proglem is that I have a a bag for my camera then I bought a travel bag (American Tourister), which fits my camera bag, my battert charcher, my old camera, a hat and 2 pair of gloves. If the camera bag was just a bit smaller, the tripod would fit. Well just a sec., I'll take a picture. Easier than trying to explain. Will post it in a few minutes,

If I reall want, I can still take the camera bag out of the carry bag, and fill the carry bag with accesories, however, I'd rather find a smaller bag for the camera so it would all fit in the carry bag.

Guesse it doesn't really matter because you can pick it up with the tripod and move around easily. The one thing I do like better about mine is that it still has all the advatages of a fullsize (except the quick release) : Raising crank, extendable legs, tilt, and rotate .... ect.

What brand and model is it? -- http://www.pbase.com/julivalley/galleries21oo , B-3oo3o4oJuli

Does it have a quick attatch ? Mine doesn't. Wish it did. Yours
looks more compact too.
Hi Richard... No it does not have a quick release. It has a screw attachment. It does not swivel horizontally but does vertically. It is very study since it is designed for a much heavier videocam. When it is folded up, it is only 1.5 in. thick, 8.5 in. long and 2.75 in. wide.

PS Your tripod is pretty cute too.

Cost 9.95...use it for macro and zoom shots....7" high to 4" low...

Besides being easy to carry another advantage to a small tripod is it kind of forces you to take dramatic low angle shots. It may be uncomfortable to shoot low but the results are very effective. Seems half the time I use my full size Slik tripod I use it very low to the ground for eye level animal shots and dramatic angles. I wear one of those camoflaged inflateable hunting seats around my waist when I go shooting nature and wildlife. Comes in handy for kneeling or sitting down in snow or mud.

Seems to me, I could justify 3. A small, medium, and large. I have a quick clip attatched to my carry bag which I clip my regular tripod to, Your little one would definately fit in the bag, and the medium one I've been using all morning as table top, and on the ground. Another advantage to it is that if you are in a crowded area, and can use it on a tabletop, there is less chance of someone triping over the legs.
