The skin tones of photos I have taken of my family using a C-3000 don't look natural, way too white, almost death like. I have been printing my photos by ordering prints from Ofoto. Is that a common problem with digital photography? Is it a problem with Ofoto? or do I need to make some adjustments using Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop Elements? Bottomline is there an easy fix to this problem? Thanks...

JFR-

It is possible that Ofoto is not paying attention when they print your shots. It is possible to tweak skin tones on most of the photo editors, too. You should post one of the suspect images so that we can see what you are talking about.

I noticed that too with my C3040 - that the skin tones were too pale (I haven't tried ofoto, but see it on my local printer). I just recently finally found a big improvement by just pushing up the saturation, using the Variations tool in Photoshop Elements.

I also got this result on my photo printer with pictures taken with my 3000.

I've also owned the Oly D-510 and Fuji 2800.
The Oly D-510 also had the pale pictures.
The Fuji 2800 did not have this problem.

I have been using the 3000 for a year now, and really haven't noticed this problem. I do seem to have a problem with flash being too bright, so I've adjusted it down.

Check out my photos and see if you feel they are also suffering from this problem. Maybe I just am not as critical as you?

I find outdoor photos show very good skin color, but indoors with flash sometimes comes out too bright (white?).

Most of the photos on here are with the 3000, but a few are with an E-100 (scroll to bottom of photos to see which camera was used, and settings)

I've only had my C3000 for several weeks. So far I have been very pleased with the tones of skin. So far all of my pictures have been indoors and using the flash. Believe me, my wife would tell me if the color was not correct. I'm using an old version of PaintShop Pro to make minor adjustments. Hope to get a better program soon. I did have problems using the HP940C until I tried HP premium plus photo paper. I have a 3000 also and print my own with good color. The info I get from this forum is Wal Mart does a real good job. Give it a shot.
