D7 Available. Should I wait for new Model?

I am ready to buy D7 and it is available (In stock) from B&H for $799.95.
Etronics has it for $899.

My question is: Should I buy it noew or wait till end of the month (PMA Exhibition) to find out if Minolta is comming with newer model?

I don't know, what are the pictures that you will miss worth to you? Only you can say. Do you want to pay full price for a new model when if first comes out? (they always start out high then drop after 4 -5 months)

Even if Minolta announces a new model at PMA, chances are very good that it will not be available until June or July; the D7 was not really available until July, for example, even though it was announced early. Then it sold for $1500 in the USA.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I too realized that if I wait for the new model It would be atleasr 3-4 months from now and have to pay $400-$500 more.

B&H is out of stock, 1 week ETA. I backordered mine, $810.60 with FEDEX 2-4 day shipping. I have been following this forum, reading everything I can about this camera, and can't wait to get mine! I even signed up for an AMEX blue card to price match. I considered waiting, for a new Minolta camera, or Fuji S602Z (lower Res but more features), but ultimately decided the D7 offers the best features&quality for the price.

I ordered at 5:30pm ET from B&H. The first sales guy told me they were out of stock after I indicated I didn't want to order anything else. After all the good things I have heard about B&H, I called back and talked to a different Sales guy. He indicated it was out of stock before asking about additional items. This is contrary to my experience with other less reputable places that I called several weeks ago. I have since read the link that warns of such places, hence ordering from B&H...

Again, thanks Mountain for the heads up. Glad I ordered mine when I did...they sure didn't last llong!

I'm pretty close to New York (Northeast PA), so even with the saver shipping I should get mine tomorrow! Got the ship notification tonight, so this puppy's on it's way here.... Can't wait.

You should buy the D7 @ B&H
BUY IT NOW! (actually I should say if you can find one, buy it!)
They are a SUPER reputable company
don't be blindsided by all these so-called deals floating around

$799 is a decent price with $11 Shipping
