It was cold out and I just didn't want to get out in it. So I played around in the house with the camera and my good old foam board.

Black foam board and the over head light in the room, the E1 on the tripod and the cable release. I used a white piece of paper to reflect a little light on the under side of the flowers. WB set with the Expo/Disc, shot in RAW and converted in RSP.

...looks like an Uzi shot...very rich and smooth... :) oh wait...that would be a Canon....

Seriously though....that's nice ...

I just want to learn photography...

did you find plastic flowers with such rich colors? LOL
Nice work!

Haven't had a chance to use the vivitar yet. May need your assistance in getting the same results as you did.

Anything's possible if you don't know what you're talking about.

Well if I could get my assistant to take some pictures now and then we could see just how good a vivtar could be.

She got them about 2 weeks ago, they are in a glass vase and have been growing like mad.
I never knew you do do that with tulip, grow them then a vase.

Hmmmm...I usually cuddle up under a quilt instead of a foam board on cold nights. ;)

Very nice job of lighting those, Bill. Really nice images. I especially like the composition of this one....the light on the pistil in this one looks like a candle glowing in the midst of the flower. Very pretty.

Excellent post, my friend,

Very nice as always, but I'm curious about your use of f/22.

Was there a lack of DOF at wider apertures? The shots seem to be more about color and light/shading than fine details which might need the extra DOF.

I am not sure what a lower F stop would have given me but I wanted all the DOF I could get to get as much of the flowers in focus as I could.

I am sure I could have gotten a little sharper image with less of and F stop but I was going for max DOF.
