i know that here is not a forum for printer, but im really intersested to know on which printer you print pictures from the d7 if you print them by yourself, thanks very much,

I use an Epson 1280 with Monaco EZColor to for custom profiles. I love the output, and when using roll paper, no one can tell its not from the 1 hour lab. I've even printed some 13x19's that have been cropped down quite a bit. And they look spectacular! I'm not a pro, but when all my friends find out I printed the pic, they can't belive it.

I'm thrilled with my Canon S800, which I've heard is discontinued, but still available for under 300 most places. Using Canon photo paper pro, I can't tell the prints from film work in most cases. The colors are fantastic and accurate. I use Photoshop Elements after running them through DIVU.

I have used Epson but now have moved to a HP 990cxi because of its all round good print qualities. The text is far better and the top quality pictures are as good----to me, as any I have seen from the newer Epsons.
I have not seen the Canon 800 but the press reports as very good--Pete

I use an Epson Stylus Photo 750 for my prints. It's an older modell, but still brings great picture to paper.

Canon s800 after the pictures are processed by Colorfix and printed via Qimage.
I use Canon PPP (which is great) and a Epson Ink Jet Paper for proofing.

Also I am trying Kodak Ultima Satin and Premium Ultra Glossy which are a bit of messing around with setting come out looking quite good ..

After a lot of trouble with my Epson 895 i decided to buy
the Canon S800...and guess what?

I never saw a photo so beautifully printed as this printer does!
It's (at least for me...) the best printer in combination with the D7!!

I have one room in my house where i hang these photo's on the
wall...all full size A4...

Everybody does feel the same way...they all think these prints are
BEAUTIFULL....

I use the HP 1220c and I am going to sell that printer amd move to the Epson 1280 with the CIS ink system.--Steven

I am using S800 and my photos are ALWAYS better than what my friend print in one hour labs. Also I took one cd to Wallmart with their state of the art dgital equipment, and I prefered my S800 because of the Canon Photo Paper Pro paper that has more gloss in it. I use 4x6 paper and 8x10

I use an Epson 785 EPX ( with the new computer software from Epson that incorporates Print Image Matching, PIM ). I usually go straight from the D7 image files to the printer using the Epson PhotoQuicker program (with no additional image processing) and Epson photo paper. The results are amazingly accurate. Note: Some folk have complained about wheel marks on the prints, but I've never seen it.

I am also using a 990 and have been happy with the results, although thinking about trying a Canon S800 or wait for the S820.

Epson 1280 for me for the BIG STUFF!
Epson 870 for the little stuff and printing Text
The 1280 with the PIM and the D7 are a match made in Digital Heaven!

I go straight from camera to a file for downloading...and then print straight from that file
(No DIVU or Colorfix) and results are stunning!

I'm using the Epson 880 model (less than a year old). I go from the D7 to DIVU, save to ADOBEsRGB, for any touch up, then print straight to the Epson. The prints are quite stunning to 8.5x11 size.

I recently heard that some of the newer Epsons even do a WIDER color range than this one, which would be great for my D7, so their might be a printer upgrade in my future. :)

Most of the newer modern printers 1440 or 2400 DPI give excellent results with the D7 camera, sometimes it's just a matter of personal preference, or maybe you like one brand better than the other.

P.S.

We use a HP 800ps 42 PLOTTER at work that does up to 2400x2400 DPI color printing up to 42 INCHES WIDE!

I recently sent a picture of an apartment complex we are working on to it by mistake (instead of the 11x17 hp 5000 black and white Laser printer), the PLOTTER was to set to 24x36 size paper and draft mode (lower resolution 600 DPI) by default! We use it for printing drawings for making blueprints up to 34x44 size.

Imagine my suprise when I walk by it and seeing it print THIS picture THAT BIG! Even though it was printing to THIN paper (18 lb transbond), the DETAIL was STUNNING! However, the cost of the PLOTTER might be rather expense for a "printer".

Hope this helps,
Knight

For quality of output Epson would be my first choice.
However in the office we use HP1220 and at home I
use a HP970 -- and two other staff now use HP at home.

The downside with Epsons is the heads -- we've lost
two printers due to clogged heads.-- and hassle when
the heads get slightly blocked. Which is why we switched
to HP.
