What's Your Favourite Lens?

I used to have an 85mm that stated on the(film) camera most of the time. Now my A 50/1.4 is my favorite lens, even if it's a bit old. It's a great lens.

I really enjoyed this one a lot. Got it for €89,- second hand and it never let me down. At that time, I bought it because I couldn't resist its price, but I was looking for a F or FA 100 macro. Eventually I got an FA 100 AND an F 100, but they are optically not as good as the 50, and more dificult to use.

I always carry the 50 with me and it gives some excellent results if you combine it with the F 1.7 adapter:

I also have a F 50 as back up, which is also excellent (but focussing manualy is more convenient with the FA 50...

The FA 28-70/4 AL - nice to see that someone else llikes it amongst
all the expensive primes, FA*'s and Ltds. I think it is an absolute
jem of a little lens.
The FA 28-70 f4 AL is definitely the underdog due to the build issues. If you're lucky enough to get one that doesn't suffer from the lens separation problem (which mine doesnt) then it's a great lens. It's a very sharp and good focal length to use indoors.

This one and my Pentax-F 35-70mm f3.5-4.5 with Macro ability are definitely some good lenses produced by Pentax

Smooth mechanism, excellent optics, pull-out hood.

No continuous metering. . . But for some reason I find the discrete meter readings are usually more accurate and produce more consistent exposures than I get from the kit lens.

Keep in mind I'm only just beginning, and I'm sure I'll find other favorites. I already have a couple of other good old primes on the way from KEH. :)

Not my most used lens, mind you - that's probably the DA50-200. But for sheer quality, and versatility (for what it is) - especially for the price (~$20 at your local pawn shop), it's tough to beat.

I like both equally for different reasons. The Tamron is a very versitile lens for a prime, very good macro, very good short tele, very good portrait. The FA 50mm 1.4 is fast and sharp sharp sharp. And it has great bokeh.

I have the screwmount 120, and it is fabulous in every way (though if I could magically make it an FA, that would be cool...)
It is an odd focal length, but one I'm fond of, and the f2.8 is nice.

On a digital it gives about the same FOV as the Nikkor 180 f2.8 that a friend always drooled over did on film, and it's about 1/4 the size...

I love my Sigma 17-70mm 2.8 Macro lens as a walk about lens. I have a Tamron 90mm Di Macro that is also excellent...soon a Sigma 70mm 2.8 Macro. In March I will get one of the new Pentax super lenses but I am not sure which I will get yet. Ahh LBA has me by the short ones!!

Cheers

Pentax K10D...JUST the very best!

I have, amongst many others, the Pentax 28-105 f/3.2 and the Sigma
24-135mm 2.8-4.5
The first focuses whenever it deems necessary, the second is the
size of a Canon L ( I dumped all my Canon long ago). They both
take very nice photos.
I'm kind of interested in the 28-105, because I'm guessing it would nicely complement a superwide zoom. What do you mean when you say it "focuses whenever it deems necessary"?
