I was filled with joy when I got the call that I had won Canon's shoot like a pro sweepstakes from the stl rams website. Canon provided me with a new camera (Rebel XTi) and the opertuinity to shoot some of the game from the field on Christmas Eve ( what a gift) I was not able to bring my MarkIIn but was pleased with how it preformed and didn't care because I was on the sidelines. I now have to submit a photo to Canon and the Rams. This is where I would like your help in selecting my best shot. All were taken with 70-200f2.8is lens at iso1600 AWB.
Thanks for any help and comments.

They are all great shots. And I'm a hugh SL rams fan. they won the super bowl the first year I started watching NFL. I would submit either number 4 or number 10. number 4 has some action, and the not to much in the background to take away the focus on the to players. Picture number 10 dosn't have any "action" but that dont matter, becouse in my eyes it's a great shot.

Congrats on the being on the sidelines, I envy you :o)

The picture has some great action in it and is reasonably sharp.

In most of the other ones there is limited action, you see mostly the backside of the players or the pictures are just not sharp.

The picture without "action" I like best No. 12.

The cheerleader pictures are OK.

Great job.

Truly excellent shots. Certainly magazine quality.
I'm especially impressed by the rich saturated colors.
Bummer you couldn't use your MIIn.

A few questions for you. I think we can all learn a lot from you.

Did you post-process to crank up the saturation or reduce high-ISO noise?
Did you shoot RAW or JPG?
Did you shoot single shots or bursts?
Which focusing mode did you use, perhaps AI Servo?

You used the 70-200 at ISO 1600, but what shutter speed and aperture did you use?
Was IS on or off?

I vote for photo No. 4.

Happy 2007 to you!

When I ask which Canon lenses are best,
people tell me to 'go to L.'

Did you post-process to crank up the saturation or reduce high-ISO noise?

I processed in Adobe Lightroom, I bumped up the vibrance to about +7 left the saturation alone

Did you shoot RAW or JPG?

These were shot in JPG, I normally shoot RAW

Did you shoot single shots or bursts?

SIngle shot

Which focusing mode did you use, perhaps AI Servo?

I started with AI Servo and then shot with single at the end

You used the 70-200 at ISO 1600, but what shutter speed and aperture did you use?

I was in manual mode, 1/1000 of a second from f2.8 to f4

Was IS on or off?

For action the IS was off, for some of the other shots I had it on

I vote for photo No. 4. I think it is between that and 9

Happy 2007 to you!

Same to you

thanks

What a thrill for you, wow. Nice stuff with the XTi - I'm impressed. I think 9 (throwing shot) is the best.

Lucky you... Being a Redskins fan, I would've love the opportunity.

The only thing is that the Skins lost... :(

But, Great pictures though!!! did you mention the lense by any chance???

Cheers!!!

I am from St. Louis and those are just awesome shots. How did you happen to win this contest? Was it a random drawing or did you submit some other photos to win?

As for your pictures - Steven Jackson was the star of that particular game. So.....I vote for #39 carrying the ball off the field with his helmet still on. Great shot.

Next.......the whole group team shot......that game was one of their best team efforts all year ....and a good one for the Rams. You may even want to submit that one first and the #39 shot second. I think it may have some meaning for the Rams.

They are all great shots though. Congratulations!

It was a random drawing, I entered off of the Rams Website. I entered the day I switched from Nikon to Canon

it depends???

if they want action i like either number 1 or the other one of bulger throwing from the pocket (forget the number).....but if they want non action i like number 2 (Little) standing alone in front of the washington huddle.....that one sticks out for me, just something about that shot that draws me into it???....

i wonder if you made that picture black and white and kept Little in color? i think it would be pretty cool....if the Rams didnt like it i would....JMHO
