What's Your Favourite Lens?

Most of my lenses cost less than 400 Australian...let alone 400 US.

But then I have had most for years. My favourite would be the k 50 1.2......or the newly acquired 17-35 2.8-4 Tamron (just over 300 Aust last few weeks)..... The most FUN using right now is the tinfoil tele 135 1.8 screwmount promura with 1.7x af adapter and bit of foil. With the k100d at least I can PRETEND I have a 340mm 2.8 autofocus telephoto with image stabilisation for next to nothing.

the FA 28-105 is a great walk about lens for day time use and the M50 is a great low light lens for street shoots at night, dark winter days and indoor with no flash

Not so fast: Below $400 and not a Limited.
I was going to reply DA21, but that one doesn't qualify.

Though I like the FA35/2 and FA50/1.4 very much, they are not really favourites. I guess in the

It's the lens I've shot most pictures with.

The Zenitar 16mm runs it close for enjoyment

Does half life-size, nice and sharp, good focus feel, and seems to work well with the $25 Tokina 2x I just bought...
Got it years back for $20 IIRC.

Of the lenses I own? F50/1.7 - its not the one I use the most, but
it is my favorite as far as IQ and handling...
OK. Which is the one you use the most? Why?
I use the kit lens the most - 18-55. Its flexible, light, and I'm shooting indoors a lot - so I need the wide end. The 50 is a great lens, but hard to get shots inside my house on a crop camera.. field of view is too narrow. Need to pick up an FA35 or FA28 :)

My most used lenses are the DA16-45/4 and A70-210/4, but the one I really like using is the FA50/1.4, closely followed by the A*300/4

A few of my favourite lenses which are definitely

(1)smc PENTAX-FA Zoom 28mm - 70mm f/4 AL (which doesn't suffer from lens separation)

(2)smc PENTAX-F 35-70mm f3.5-4.5 (very sharp lens and has an effective macro use at the long end)
(3)Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm f2.8-4 macro 3rd gen

I am indebted to Brandrx and others on this one.

The lense is reasonably heavy and filter size is 82. Had mine for a long time but its very dirty inside...I think a previous owner tried to clean it.

It is a load of fun using this with the af adapter though does not always focus perfectly and is a bit hit or miss. Some pics ARE what I would be happy with from a really expensive lens. Think it works better in a fairly close range.

The FA 28-70/4 AL - nice to see that someone else llikes it amongst all the expensive primes, FA*'s and Ltds. I think it is an absolute jem of a little lens.
