Maybe they're down for the holidays. Who would know better than Lensmate themselves?

Lensmate promised the adapter for the G7 for mid- December but obviously there must have been a hold-up during production. I presume that it will be available shortly after the New Year.

Can anyone explain why lensmate 58mm is better then Canon own adapter?
Canon's are plastic while Lensmates are anodized aluminum.

I'm going to buy a lensmate adapter for my A640. I see they have a 52mm one and also a 58mm. Which one would you go for (assuming that you don't already have any lens nor filter that could force your decision). Lensmate says to better get the 52mm one, but I don't understand why 52mm should be better than 52mm.

When using flash the 52mm adapter blocks less light than it's counterpart.

The 58mm also blocks more of the optical viewfinder, which may or may not be important to you.

It used to be, too, that 52mm filters were the most commonly available and came in the widest assortment of flavors; I don't know if that's true now or not.

Yes, I was aware of that and the flash blocking problem because I own a 58mm for my G3. I was only wondering that maybe could be other reasons to go for on or the other...

This would be another good reason to go for the 52mm one. Thanks.

If the user's intention is to use shoe mount flash when going wide angle with add-on lens or something, does 58mm offer anything else over 52mm other than a larger diameter?
