water lily macro

Stan,

Amazing! The implied movement as this flower unfolds reminds me of water ballet. Very well done.

What camera did you use?

Hi Stan,

As I wrote:
'I do have to do a lot of thinking'

And I do have to do a lot of thinking about this one, as it just ain't as I would have capture it, but well I also could try to manage to like the way you captured it.

It's fine in it's colors and lines, but in my view not that strong as it could have been in composition. For you it will be quite a bit out of centered, for me it's just to much centered. I think it lacks some free space in what corner you like to choose, too much it's just a very fine capture of a beautifull flower. I think I discovered it's all about what we don't make the point of interest, the dull part of the photograph makes the interesting part more interesting, but well I might be quite mistaken.

Never the less, it tells me you see the bright things in life, the fine shapes as well the fragile colors,

Hello Hugh,

I like the flower for the same reasons. In retrospect the composition could have been a little less centered. I will try to experiment a little more next time aroud.

Stan
Hello Stan,

Very intense. I like the brilliant colors and fine sharpness. Good
one.

Hello DC,

I forgot how happy it makes me to post images. I even took my camera with me today in case I got the urge to crank it up again. Hope to be back in the flow real soon.

Stan
Good to see u post Stan. Colors are very special.

Thanks,

Daniel

Helly Judy,

Thanks. The flower is wonderful and that beauty gets me to forget about composition and center my images too much. Maybe I should stay away from beautiful objects and try a more artistic approach to photography.

Stan
Wow, Stan, what a gorgeous explosion -- a pleasure-burst of color!

Beautiful sharpness throughout.

Hello Ron,

I am happy you like this image. The water lilies are wonderfully and intensely colorful. I used the CP950 for this image which was taken in 1999.

Hello Floren,

Nature created this wonderful beauty. The camera caught the colors. I would like to get a better handle on composition and create the kind of images that you have been posting lately.

Stan
wow what a beauty stan, expertly captured

Hello Larry,

Thanks. This is an old image. I hope that by looking at your posts I am learning a little bit about the difference between photographing a beautiful object and creating a beautiful photograph. Lord knows you keep showing me how to do it.

Stan
Hi Stan, Pretty neat looking flower. Interesting shapes and colors
to the beauty... You really captured this one very well.
with respect,
Larry

Hello Jacques,

I thank you very much for the very well heard advice and agree about the deficiency in the composition. I replied to LMC54 above about learning the difference between photographing a beautiful object and creating a beautiful photograph. Given enough time and effort I hope to understand how to do the artistic thing and use space in a better way.

Wow! This is truly impressive Stan. It's a very vibrant and fine photograph.

Yes, it's centered, and yes, that is something that in the main probably should be avoided. But centering is an option just like any other positioning is - sometime it is the right thing to do. I'd say that this was one of those times.

My best,

Ed
