I talked with my cousin yesterday. Fist time in months as she
cannot talk long due to pulmonary fibrosis. She is on heavy oxygen
all the time.
She cannot walk very far in her house. She told me her condition is
"rapidly deteriorating." Yet she made me laugh until I cried. Great
humor.
HERE IS WHERE I NEED YOUR HELP.
She daydreams all the time. Visits places in her mind. She loves
hummingbirds but they have gone for the winter. If everyone will
PLEASE post a pic I will print them all out and give them to her
for her to visit. Anything, anywhere, just somewhere you love or
your favorite photo. I will sign your name. Please include a first
name and your country.
I hate xmas. But this is a chance of all of us to do something
really special who knows this is her last xmas.
This is NOT TO BE A SAD EVENT. It is a chance to give of yourself.
The real meaning of xmas. NO ONE can give her this but us.
Will you please join me in giving her something special?
THANK YOU

I hope all the images that others have contributed here bring your cousin joy. :)

Please send her my best.

This is actually two birds, it was so funny the way they were positioned. Not the best image tachnically, but oh what a funny image it makes.

These geese and ducks live in a man-made pond in the center of our little neighborhood in Kyle. They often waddle up to peoples' backyards to be fed.

Just another beautiful bird.

Unfortunately, I've yet to have the pleasure of a hummingbird in my lens... But I have an idea on how to make it a little more special...

Didjya ever entertain the idea of puting them all on a card, loading it into a digital frame & lettimg her cruise the contents with the remote many digi-frames come with??? Or many of em can do slide-show type presentation, not to mention many of them have audio capability for musical or narational accompaniment...

Yeah, A tad pricey but will save a lot of thumprints on paper & tattered edges as well as you a lotta time printing them..... Time maybe better spent narrating or choosing music....
Oh well, 'twas a thought....In lieu of being hummingbird-less....

CJ, I just last week lost my most beloved aunt to the same disease. It was a very difficult six months for her and for those of us who cared for her.

After the funeral, we went down to Asheville, NC, to see the Biltmore Estate at Christmas. Most of these images are not Panasonic but I hope you still enjoy them, in the spirit of the season.

And there is one hummer at the very end. Merry Christmas and keep your spirits up.

'The ultimate wisdom of the photographic image is to say 'There is the surface. Now think - or rather feel, intuit - what is beyond it, what the reality must be like if it looks this way'. Photographs, which cannot themselves explain anything, are inexhaustible invitations to deduction, speculation, and fantasy.' - Susan Sontag

Hope these two help with your quest. I apologise for not reading your thread earlier.

Have just visited an Aunty who will be 102 on Jan 4th!. Jogged me into thinking about what is going on around me. Have a great reunion with your cousin and from the many responses you have had the montage should be fabulous. Have the best Xmas you can.
