Here are some pics I took tonight in downtown Los Angeles. They've been very minimally adjusted in Lightroom.

Beautiful...

So who says LX2 not good for low light???? Would you care about noise if you can get great pix like these?

As long as you keep it under 400ISO, it is good enough.

Keep this in mind:

NEVER EVER USE THE AUTO MODE. It sometimes auto select 400-1600ISO.

If it is a lazy day, use (P) mode.... that's what I do.

Thx,

I'm real happy with the results of this camera. Sometimes you have to work for them with a little trial and error but thats half the fun.

Thanks, that is interesting. I posted a shot from NYC on the Leica forum last night. The exposure was for 1 second and I suppose at 6 seconds it would be wildly overexposed but I thought I remembered you having long expsoures. I had it on 100 and in P mode. I thought the expsure would be longer than it was. I need to play around a bit I just got the camera a couple of days ago.

There's no doubt you gotta work for good results in low light. For every good shot I get I probably throw away a dozen. But thats the beauty of digital photography and I have fun tinkering around with shots. I intentionally used a long exposure cause I wanted the lights of traffic to streak as cliche as it may be.

Thanks for the info! Certainly proves you can get some fine results.

Can't wait to get my hands on my LX2 ;)

Regards,

Bron

Lovely shots. Generally, the LX2 at ISO100 and tripod'd for night shots are guaranteed good everytime...it's the handheld and higher iso attempts at indoors and night scenes that are 'impossible'.

Beautiful ! Classic night shots where all cars disappeared into the light streaks.
