Well Happy Xmas from New Zealand, here it is the time to play at beach

admire NZ 's own xmas tree (the pohutukawa)

and cool off in water of your choosing

All the above were taken with my 16-45 on my DS. I wonder what Santa will bring.

The first image is truly beautiful! The contrast between the rich red of the tree and the light blue of the water&sky is wonderful to look at. There's a great sense of calmness in the picture and the person on the bottom really adds to the picture.

  1. sigh# Beautiful, makes me want to come over again (and again and... ...stay)
BTW, I just noticed your comment about my Kiwi Rush Hour picture http://www.jr-worldwi.de/photo/gallery/Kiwi_Rush_Hour_small.html in one of the many threads I missed. Thanks for that, mate!

Cheers
Jens

Thank you very much, it was truly a beautiful day.

Thanks for the splash of color and warmth, pretty brown and lifeless here in Canada this time of the year, grey, brown, overcast and dull (+:
You folks have one beautiful and exotic country down there.

Yep, just several weeks ago it was the same here - not exactly good photo weather eh.

Great photos Si.

The first looks like it is from the Hauraki Gulf somewhere. Pohutukawa is a favourit of my son and we got one in the garden who have just started flowering. Does this mean we are in for a great summer?

Cheers

Ah yes, summer. Thats supposed to be now isn't it :) Finding it a little hard to tell at the moment.

Good luck for Christmas. Hope you get a K10. The beautiful, noisy, soft, banded images it produces are superb ;)

Love the first image - beautiful...

My Mum had a NZ christmas bush in her garden which flowered every year in summer.

Best wishes, have a great Christmas and enjoy that NZ scenery!

Hi Eddie,

It was taken out by Maraetai. Not sure if we are in for even a good summer ;-)

Hi Gazza,

I played with one at Camera & Camera and was really suprised at the speed of AF and how heavy it was not.

They will only sell with 15-55 kit and as I never even use my existing 18-55 I have decided to wait til I go to Tokyo next week. If I can't get one there I will just to have bite the bullet.

Cheers Si.

Hi Ricahrd,

No Santa wears gumboots and rides around on a quad bike.

Si.
Very good photos. Makes me wish I was there. By the way, without
snow and ice, how does Santa get around? Does still use a sled
pull by reindeer?
Best wished for a merry Christmas.

Hi Si

Shame they won't sell the body only. You would think with the type of camera this is they would expect to sell many body only kits.

Have fun in Japan.

When you get your K10, big thing you'll notice is speed! Everything is quicker. I bought my self some Sandisk ExtremeIII 2 GB cards to celebrate :)

Where's all your snow? Don't you wish it was -20 Deg. C and snowy? We can trade if you wish. BTW, very nice images.

Thanks Ron,

If it is any consolation it did rain a bit here this afternoon ;-)

Si.

That looks like a good deal. I wonder how the g'tee is on this one? If it was valid in NZ it looks to be a good deal. 16-45 is a great lens if you don't have one already.

Let us know what happens with it
