I would like to buy a camera for travelling to very hot and humid countries. It has to be light to to put in a pocket and should take very good pictures.
what can i buy for max $ 250. Can somebody help me?
Thank you

Since you posted the question in the Canon Talk forum, I'll give you a Canon camera as a suggestion! lol

Right now great deals can be had on the SD700IS, it's about as small as cameras come and has very good IQ.

Ops.....well the $250 may be a stretch on the SD700IS

Ok, good budget camera? maybe the Olympus SP350 it even offers RAW and a hot shoe all for around $200-250 I've not played with one but everyone that has one thinks very highly of it and I've seen some really nice pics from it.

I still think the SD700IS is a great deal even at $300 maybe you could come up with the $50 difference? the IS is a feature I can't do without.

I love Canon cameras but when it comes to a travel camera it's very hard to beat the Panasonic TZ1.

Panasonic cameras, in good light are great. Panasonic cameras in bad light show more noise than a Canon. However, the type noise produced by a Panasonic is very easy to remove with a program like Neat Image or Noiseware..

Very small, rugged, cheap. Even has a protector on the screen. Or, get its cheaper little brother, the sd600, which is a big smaller, gives you a viewfinder, but doesn't have a screen cover.

Before I got my Canon S3, I had 2 SONY didgicams, my last one I got last year was the T-33 and it takes AWESOME pics for a "pocket" camera! So maybe look into a Sony, they do make great cams!
