A100: MMC to CF adaptor

I could be way off there, but it's my understanding that only Compact Flash and Memory Stick Duo (or Pro Duo) will work in the A100. I have the Pro Duo from my H5 installed right now, but plan to grab a SanDisk Extreme CF card very soon.

Can I use SD card with the MMC to CF adaptor that comes in the
box(A100)? I don't have MMC but a lot of SD cards.
I'm not sure what you are trying to do here either.

The adapter that is in the a100 box will allow you to use a Memory Stick Duo in a CF slot and cannot be used with an SD card. There are SD to CF adapters on the market, but not one that is supplied with an a100, and I have no idea how well they will work in one, as I have never heard of anyone trying one.

For the record, I've got the A100 and I've been having trouble getting my 3rd party Memory Stick Pro Duo to work correctly...Perhaps just due to the "3rd party" aspect, but either way I'd rather go w/ Compact Flash.

Must be the third party deal indeed. Because my Memory Stick Pro Duo is a Sony and it works fine in the A100. Which is good, because I haven't yet bought another card. I plan on getting a CF card or two ASAP, as I use the Duo card in my H5 and right now I can't use it (well... it does have internal memory... I can shoot a whopping 20 images at 3MP on the internal memory... LOL).

They work I am sure....I have a SD to CF adaptor....don't know about speed/multiple shooting but people in the KM thread have said they dont see a difference in speeds during normal shooting. So a search there.

I use my MS pro mainly though...I got a 1gb one with my camera as part of a package. The adaptor I got because I also have a 4gb SD card which I use in my PDA phone....

I just tried out an SD card in my SD-CF adapter and it worked fine in the a100. It's interesting because my previous camera was the Minolta DiMage 7i and they came out with a firmware upgrade that allowed SD cards to be used in SD-CF adapters. Prior to that it didn't work. I guess they got it right the first time around with the a-100.

So in answer to the original question of this thread, (although it was difficult to understand due to mention of the MMS-CF adapter) yes, you can use all those SD cards with your a100, provided that you have an SD-CF adapter.
