Just as it is, Phil. Often a colored background will cause a complimentary persistance of vision effect when viewing images. giveing a color cast over the image.

The black background avoids this and is easier on the eyes than a white background wich would produce a nutral after-cast if used.

Leave a winner a winner.

Why not try infra red for a change ;-)

Phil asking for advice. I can't pass on this opportunity!! :o)

Black - for sure.

Very professional/photographic looking but just as important, allows viewers to see image colours as pure as possible without the distraction of a cream or even a bright white surrounding them.
My humble, but prepress experienced opinion.

I love the way people are answering a 3 year old thread...

Phil,

That is the problem with moderating a site with a huge following in the US AND the UK. Sometimes irony gets missed ;)

But then again, I do appreciate your taking the time to read and respond to all this traffic. I really love it when you loose your sense of humor and have to remind people to do a search.
Or better yet when you take the time to introuduce them to google.com
Cheers

P.S.
"once you go black you never go back!" was the movie quote that came to my mind.
Leave it as it is. Its very readable this way!

Catching that special moment with a great camera

I find white as a back ground much easier to read text from - which is probably why this part where I'm writing now is white. I know black is a big part of this site but white would make life a lot easier. Having a few isolated headings with black background is fine but not as much as is presently used.

Fine question, hope my proverbial 2 cents worth is given some consideration.

Phil is just to nice to say it to us.

If we all had read we would have noticed this is an old, old... old posting that someone strangely revived with a follow-up but has absolutely no current relevance. Phil is having a good laugh over it.
Save your breaths, stop writing.

I prefer it with the black background... Although, a light color might be nice, but would have to see the pages first...But I am very happy with what you have now.
