What are your other hobbies?

boating and skiing. The first shot is me, the second is our youngest son, and the 3rd is our boat.

It is indeed an old Obrien ski. The green pretty much gives that away. Vintage is certainly the same era as the World Team Comp. I purchased and started skiing on this ski way back in 1979, and I'm still using it. But the model is 'Especial'. I don't think it was in the lineup for very long. The newer models have better bindings but I still like the smooth stability and turning capabilities of my old ski. It will probably go to the grave with me.

That's quite cool ! Do you come across newb's with the fear of
heights like myself ? Ive been flying power kites for the last ten
years (3xflexifoil super 10's stacked) which are quite a challange
on a gusty day.Usually on the way home from the beach, nobody has
the energy to speak

regards
Hey Kruger,

I'm afraid of heights myself. But it's hugely different when you got a wing above your head. You feel light on your feet and some primordial recess of your mind trusts that you've got wings.

Paragliding is the slowest form of flying aircraft, the lightest and most portable, and the easiest to learn. With your kiting background you'd pick it up in no time. But I have to be honest. It is deceptively easy to learn and so peaceful and serene that people can lose their concentration, push the limits and die. I know a lot of people who have.

The colourful canopies and unobstructed views make for some of the most impressive photography you can imagine. Check this one out:

They look amazing..I would be afraid of crossing lines with another flyer with all that traffic and falling 10k ft. What a nitemare..

When you don't have any good mountains near your home, the Paramotor become your best toy to reach the sky! It's a paraglider with a motor as a backpack.

You can take fly from any small field, and put your plane back in the rear your car.

Don't even try a paramotor, or you'll quickly turn addict. ;-)

Whenever someone (like my girlfriend) gives me a hard time about all of the lenses and cameras I have, I explain that taking photographs and collecting camera equipment are two separate (but related) hobbies and that I am into both of them.

ps- I also windsurf race (which is also related to photography because I take photos of my buddies in between my heats - they love em).

I run a club for radio control enthusiasts. Its really an excuse for blokes who never grew up to relive their childhoods as most of the models featured are 20-30 years old which they have lovingly restored. Its got a real tight connection with photopgraphy though as we've always encouraged our members to take the best pictures they can, but its more the take part that counts.

This shot just won our "Best jump" photo
