Hi

Can anyone recommend software that can convert MOV files from my CP990 into MPEG format ?

I had to convert a MOV file to AVI and I used the mov2avi utility but it didn;t work correctly.

The one that worked for me was SmartVid from Intel. It;s old and I don;t know if it works with the codecs of new digital cameras.

You can find at http://www.divx-digest.com/software/smartvid.html
Then you can compress the avi to mpeg using bbmpeg or tmpengc.
look at the http://www.divx-digest.com where to find those files.

i looked for ages to find a converter that worked, without much luck.
i found it is easier to use "Quicktime 4" to export the mov file to AVI
(File-Export)
then use a AVI to MPG1 encoder to encode the file.
there are heaps of MPG1 encoders just get one u like.
