--Hi all....been reading about the h5 here for a month and took the plunge, this is one of my first efforts and would love to hear any comments, I read the white paper and kudos to the author, I am pretty clueless and never used anything but AUTO before this camera.....Thanks to everyone here...Rudy

Is this thing focused?

and welcome.

I agree with Hutchman's assessment...focus looks sharp and on target, and the composition is very nice. It does look just a touch too dark.

I think the cleanest way to brighten an image like this, where you just want a boost of the highlights without also brightening the shadows too much is to just make a duplicate layer in PS or PSP, then change the blend mode to 'screen', and adjust the opacity to your liking. This works better for me than using a 'brightening' tool.

Is this a bird in a zoo or park, in the wild, or do you own the owl?

Look at the detail of the reflection in the eyes.

Very nicely done.

one of the best I've seen. Just adjust the brightness with some PP as stated by others. Nice work.

... it's a great capture. The only thing wrong is that it's a bit underexposed, which is really easily fixed in post-processing. It's too dark!

I hope you don't mind, but I took a few seconds to bring the levels up just to show you what can (and probably should) be done. If you do mind, let me know and I'll take the picture down.

Exceptionally nice photo for a first shot. Very focused and crisp. Just a little dark though. Maybe could edit in Photoshop. If taken in Manual mode maybe could open up the shutter.

I dont mind at all....fully appreciate the enhancement...I agree it looks much better, but now can you tell me what software was used and the costs involved, the only software I have is what came with the h5,,thanks again , Rudy
