d80 price

I really can't comment on them, but I paid £767 yesterday for a D80 + 18-135 at Jessops and I think they were doing it with the 18-70 for £699.

Just trying to learn and it's slow going!

I do not understand. They have a price-matching Internet-system, somebody said? Means they can match prices of others or be even cheaper? 450 UK pounds are equivalent to ca. 870 Dollar. The same camera cost only 599 in USA. 170 Dollar less! Or 378 pounds on ebay-Germany, still 70 pounds less than Jessops.

What price-matching system could be meant...? Matching with what - or whom,....and where? USA is the cheapest place to buy. For the last 5 days I did nothing but comparing prices world-wide, incl. the Middle-East, Japan and China. USA is the place to buy, though one has to find a way around customs - in most cases!

Jessops now have a Internet price matching policy. So they will
match the best price you find on the internet

Sorry, only now I read that Jessops matches the prices, quote "on the Internet". That means WORLDWIDE, right....?

That is wrong!

See my previous post!

The kit you bought is only £713.75 at Jessops and the D80 with 18-70 is £674.85 if you buy another £50 worth of extras you can get it for £649.85 and those prices have been current for about a week.

The lowest price for a D80 body in the UK is £517.75 this would equate to a price free of VAT £440.63 this would then be 845 US dollars as US dealers quote without taxes. B&H are quoting $939.95

Jessops only price match to UK stock, no grey imports and the item must be in stock in the UK, either online or in a shop

Many thanks for your input. I bought £70 of extras and no discount was offered. What should have happened?

I saw your post, Alex, and just wanted to say that jessops.com website has a space in your shopping cart where you can enter a discount code found on http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/index.html

That's £50 off the online price for a sale over £750, i'm not sure if they will match this in-store but you can always try, if you want and just return it under the refund policy and order online, free next day delivery. It's a bit of a hassle if you don't live very near to a local store but i think it's worth the saving, and the same 30 day satisfaction guarantee applies as well.
