There is a site on pbase, that I have to list here.

the guy is either in the military or a press reporter.

You have to see these shots of people and planes etc.

This pic is unreal...Tks for posting--DomDP-NJC-2100UZ http://www.pbase.com/domdp 'The quality of your life is determined by how you feel at any given moment. How you feel is determined by how you interpret what is happening around you, not by the events themselves.' --Brian Tracy--

...but I find your comments "Go Navy Go" very tasteless and saddening. This is not some high-school football game pictures, these are actual human beings on their moments of death. I don't care if they are "evil" or "bas*ards" and whatnot, they are human beings.

OTOH, war IS hell, and pictures like these are wery rare these days, and show combats the way it really is, not just fancy remote controlled smart-bombs. But thanks for posting (I think) :~

Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war...

The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other ba* ard die for his.

The lens knows no mercy. A glimpse of Hell, frozen in time.

Death in freeze-frame.

Death, perhaps never rightous, is sometimes necessary.

Death is a part of life. The last part perhaps?

These picture are amazing .... and sad, too. However, they are a true record of human history. Maybe they should not be glorified, but nor should they be hidden.

In frames 7 & 8 you can see Taliban soldiers flying thru the air.
Go Navy Go!!!
A dramatic sequence indeed, but after the numerous fakes that have been distributed after the WTC attack, etc. I'd be somewhat wary of assuming their authenticity.--Misha

What is the link you are talking about on pbase?

Jimmie, thanks for sharing these. I can appreciate these as I used to be in an F-14 squadron (VF-31) aboard the USS John F. Kennedy. That was our motto..."Anytime baby". Yea, war is hell but these b*stards deserve to die...

More like "Go USA go"...Bob

This picture had far less impact on me than the photographed "moments of death" of 3000+ actual human beings in NY and DC........

I think that's a rather limited view. Taliban leadership is guilty of collusion with the terrorists, but most of the actual fighters are poor illiterate peasants that have been drafted by the Taliban or simply followed tribal allegiances; many of the current "allies" in Afghanistan were with Taliban yesterday and just switched sides. It's not that simple at all.--Misha

I saw where the Taliban and a lot of other terrorist sympathizers were laughing when they saw people jumping from the twin tower's. I wonder how many of them would be laughing if they saw these soldiers flying up in the other direction? Think about it...

I'm not scared of these pictures... just happy that that those who would kill any and all American women and children won't be getting the chance.
I don't pity an excised cancer either.

Why? Because they are defending their country from attack? I'll bet you ten trillion dollars that not one of the soldiers depicted in these photos had anything to do with the WTC bombing.

War is hell. And sometimes your fighting for something you don't even believe in. Does this mean the Americans who fought in Vietnam deserved to die?

I swore I wasn't going to get involved in this post.

This is a simplistic and not very humane attitude. These are people, individuals, most of whom had nothing to do with the acts of terror in the US. The US has at some points in history committed cruel acts too (Vietnam, Hiroshima - there may be arguments about military/strategic justification, but the fact remains that thousands of civilians died) - does that give the reason to those countries to go after you?
