I know this isn't about Nikon digital cameras, but I'vev gotten great advice here and am looking for a little more.

My girlfriend wants me to ... just kidding.

I need to find a good Digital Camcorder for $600 or under. Does anyone know of a resource like this one except for Camcorders?

Much appreciated.

Also, I own a Canon mini-DV camera which is extremely small and sharp. Some Nike folks took it on a bike ride with Lance Armstrong last week and it turned in some great footage. The IS feature works great.
Highly recommended -- retails around $600USD or so ...--Loren Minnick

Is that the ZR30 MC? I think that's what I might end up with. Found it for $585.

Hi Loren and Ralph,

I just want to thank you for the two sites you recommended, upon looking at them I found a link to a Media Studio Pro users group forum. This is something I have been wanting to find for over 6 months.

Thanks.

Yes. Mine is an earlier entry in the ZR line -- got it three years
ago, so the ZR30 is not only cheaper but more sophisticated than
mine.
You'll be amazed at how sharp DV looks on a TV compared to analog

I do a lot of videography for home, for our local community cable tv station, and making commercials for good causes that could not otherwise afford tv production.

I recommend a Sony or Canon Mini-DV format camcorder or, as a second choice, a Sony Digital-8 format camcorder. The more you pay, the more features you will get. You can't go wrong with image quality with any of these choices. If small size is important, you might also want to look at the new JVC Mini-DV line, but I think it is out of the price range you stated. ^^^Bob^^^
